I'm so sorry to ask but man this thread is so deep it's hard to find an answer. A few years back I convinced my dealer to update the ECU (via a tsb) on my 2017 M/T from 4B12 to 4B13. I was happy with this update and it improved the early lag. Quick question, is it worth the effort to attempt to convince the dealer to update my ECU from 4B13 to 04B14? From what I read, 04B14 is the latest ECU update for the 2017's?

Can't hurt to try. If all else fails find someone close by you that has the ability. With the number of active users on this forum, you'll likely find someone. Especially in Colorado!

Yes. Or buy the cable and do it yourself. It was noticeable for me

Did you move from 4B13 to 4B14? What was the most noticeable differences?

I have a cable and a Mac with a Windows VM. An older version of TS works fine connecting to the truck. I’ve used it to program some keys. I’m assuming I can use this same setup to flash? I know I’ll have to use the newer version of TS that’s posted on the first page. I noticed some stating that it’s not a good idea to use a virtual machine but I’m wondering if that was for connectivity issues (don’t have issues on my end) or if it’s specific to doing the flash.

Yep, I just tested the link as well. All good here. Is the issue downloading or unzipping?

Lol, no. The forum just decided to just randomly put a link in my post. I didn't do that.

You may have a corrupt download? That's a new one to me. Try the link in my signature? Also, make sure your AV isn't quarantining or deleting anything.

I went from 04b12 to 04b13 to 04b14. Each was a noticeable change. Smoother and more refined each time

@tonered and @lapoltba and @mZiggy and others have all been though all those TSB as well

I did one in a vm. It can work but it depends on your specific setup. Also not sure what odb2 adapter you are using but I’d highly recommend a tactrix, not one of the cheapo ones. Anyone that’s had issues flashing has been with the $30 knockoffs.

Thanks! Good to know. With the cheepo ones, will it just fail to begin flashing or could it fail part way through bricking my ECU. Meaning, is it worth even trying?

Tactrix is fast... I ordered this morning and it'll be delivered Saturday according to the tracking.

Yeah. That is pretty typical from what folks have said.

    Not teabag!
