It's summer and I typically ride the bike more than drive in the commute. I have 800mi to go, and the bike is gonna sit of a while. If I didn't change the engine oil at 5k, I would have scheduled the service already.

Well here is my feedback after a 5 minute drive.

Yasssss Toyota! Finally did us a solid! If the truck rolled off the line like this, I think there would have been far less people trading them in. Power delivery is smooth, 3500 rpm “boost” muted, no hesitations or surges. Pull from a stop is much better, maybe even better then 1.04A 87 OVTune. What stood out the most was no lag in 2nd/3rd gear pulls and reverse. Even with the OVTune reverse never felt right, always felt surgy. It’s perfect now! Need to get it out on the highway and on some rolling mountain roads to really see how well they have done.

I look forward to seeing what OVTune can do with this baseline.

I sure hope the Dealer will perform this on my truck too.

Looking at purchasing tech stream. I can’t remember where in this thread it talks about what is needed. If someone has info on a good setup that isn’t shady please let me know. After I have techstream I just download the file and flash? I will def. need my hand held on this one. If a novice can mess up there truck then maybe I shouldn’t do it. Thanks.

Good news. Just got in without an appointment and they took my truck in. Won’t be done for another 3 hours or so. Hopefully they work this out and don’t come back saying, they can’t find the update specific for the manuals.

*on a side note. None of the service runners know how to drive a manual, haha. So there it sits, till someone who knows how to drive one can get it moved. ;)

I ordered a cable from OBDII365. It's shipping from China. LOL!

    Hopefully it'll be here soon.

Are you talking about the ones on Amazon noted to be Tactrix Open Ports for about $60? If so, I was looking at those wandering if they were copies of the Tactrix item or not. A lot of them noted shipping in the September time frame.

I'll let you know when I get it.

Although, I might just break down and have my dealer do it... since I'm here everyday.

Waiting for the TSB like :playball: If it doesn't come out in the next week or so...

Anyone in the Central Vermont area have a Tactrix and Tech Stream that can help me out with my Taco? I'll bring a six pack of beer? Or you can meet me at my buddy's shop in Orange and check out a Subota (2000 Legacy GT on a Toyota 4Runner frame with a 20R engine and drive train sitting on Cut Boggers), and I'll still provide the beer.

The Tactrix that I got with OVTune. Make sure you select the correct VIM on TechStream.

Same thing always happens to me. Makes me so sad. My wife and I have only owned manuals our whole lives. I dred the day when manual cars disappear entirely.
