    Cool!

Neither. Check the step by steps!

Once TS is installed, the CUWs are executables. It is it's own flash wizard.

Hopefully on your phone? Leave the computer alone until done.

Yeah, the learning curve is a bit steep. But now, you have a lot of useful tools at your finger tips.

Whew! Always let the computer rest for TSB flashes.

Excellent! @OVTune is pretty quick about getting folks the Tune Packs.

Enjoy the better Stock tune while your waiting.

Excellent! That is what a lot of folks say. The tune will bring along a similar change with more options to be released.

Errm, does this look right? New VF download and it appears I can update my ecu to the lastest version through VF Tuner without the Techstream? There are tunes that were included with my download of Vf tuner. I have a 19' TRD OR 6MT, would this be the correct file to update the ECU to? (04B42)?

Unfortunately no. At this time, you would just be forcing the 04B42 Stock tune on to your 04B40 or 04B41 ECU, which has caused rare soft-bricks long ago (the OVT Flash Manager days). Not sure if there would be a similar result with the newer software, but you don't want to play in that sand box.

The only known way is to use the flash wizard in TechStream.

Note that there is only the 04B42 Stock tune available from vF / OVT. The Tune Pack is not out yet. Hang tight there!

The tune file needs to match your current ECU. There is a feature being worked on to update ECUs with vF but its still in development and no ETA

So, you're saying that if I get my ECU ID on my current (04B40 or 04B41) ECU, email that to Mat, he will be able to send me my tune pack? Is it that simple?

You could do that. If you're 04B40, I would highly recommend flashing up to 04B41 though.

Beyond that, there are some big improvements going to 04B42. It is similar to our 04B14 tune on the 2016 / 2017 MTs.

Maybe ill do that then, and update to 04B41 and get the tune pack on that. Run that for a while until I can update to 04B42 when the tune comes out for it. Thanks much for the help, with all the soft bricking and stuff I just don't want to mess up my truck. I'm sure ill have more questions....

    You're welcome!

Hit us up with any questions.

Check in the Spoilers in the 1st Post for all the info to get you flashed to 04B41.

If you intend to go to 04B42, do not use your Credits to Unlock 04B41 in vF for editing. Save those for 04B42.

It seems to run weird? Even folks who were not minding it were happier when they switched to non-Thx. Sorry, but I have not experienced it myself. Just going off of convos with folks.
