Yes. 04B82 is for the CC issue, but contains the updates for 04B81 also. The latest is always the greatest.

As always, there could be more incorporated into an ECU Update that we cannot identify. TSBs never list all changes just particular symptoms.

Guess my cheap Tachtrix won’t do it get an error. I can get on tech stream and make changes though maybe I can get the dealer to do the update.

Do not use a clone Tactrix to update. Plenty of warnings in this thread about that including a brick or two.

Most folks with a Tactrix would be happy to meet up and get you updated. There's a ton floating around due to the easy accessibility for Toyotas and because of vF Tuner. The tune flashes use an almost identical Tactrix. So, post up your location and link up in your regional section.

If you're near Seattle, lemme know.

I wish I was. Thanks for the offer. I’m just going to see if the dealer will do it I just hate dealing with them. Lol

    You're welcome.

Dealer resistance is the entire reason for this thread.

Finally got around to updating the ECU calibration on my 2016 MT.

Have the latest update of VFTuner.

Emailed zendesk for assistance on registering my ECU, and requesting the latest 04B14 tunes.

Been running the 04B13 1.05B SFOB 91 tune since it came out.

Also thinking about some of the newer professional tunes.

The TS instructions are perfect, and I had no trouble at all flashing the 04B14 ECU calibration using TSv14 from the 1st post.

    Thanks for the instructions.

Has anybody found a key generator for TIS V16?
I have the version installed and working from MHHauto. Would like to generate my own keys in the future

I have not looked but I think someone mentioned one at some point. Going forward, I only plan to link up raw versions like the V16 link as the key gen file creates more questions and issues than it solves.

Also note that the linked V16 is probably not going to work on the 2023s, so a newer version will be needed once that is known.

Pretty sure there's a v17 out in the wild, but idk if it supports 2023MY

2023 Tacoma support was added with V17.20, and it is indeed out the wild.

Years ago I posted an email for a russian dude (may be associated with mhhauto) who will, if you *ask nicely* generate a full set of keys for TIS for all languages, you have to send him your numbers from the program...been a long time since I've done it so can't quite remember but the software computes a value for your computer and itself and he will generate the numbers. I've done it for two versions so far and he gets back to me in a couple of days with a full set of ID values that work. I use a throw-away gmail acct because "russia" but whatevs.

EDIT: here was my last email text so you know what numbers he needs (it was software ID & version & north america):

That's the guy. I considered asking him for the key generator but haven't yet. Didn't really want to bother him

Autokent charges for the keygen. Similar to Techstream it also needs a key itself based on a uniquely generated hardware number. Kind of ironic actually.

So he charges for the generator app?

Or you can just pay a 1 time fee for access to mhh auto and get a code (he's one of the members who gives out the codes). He just doesn't give a key gen.
