Will this be coming to California residents?

We're already underway for this to be CA legal through CARB EO certification.

So is this new tune software change a "cloaking device" to make a tuned truck pass an emissions test, or does it actually make a tune legal in those states that are now testing to determine if a tune exists?

After this passes for the 3.5L 2GR-FKS, is there a road map to also CARB=certify OTT's tune for the 4.0L 1GR-FE? Lots of 1GR-FE's out there.

Yes sir, that is the intent. We’ve already done our preliminary work with our 5-gas analyzer and dyno time doing the simulated drive cycles as well as confirming output as advertised.

We are evaluating the landscape at this time based on the various markets (platforms we support) and will crunch the numbers as we decide what will be next.

I have the OTT tune and I'm very happy with it. I live in an area that doesn't require testing, at this time, but I figured with the Colorado CARB test failure we'd be hearing about a lot of others failing by now. Maybe I missed it but I haven't heard of any other failures, on TW or any other sources. Go figure?

This certification validates our OTT CE calibration as emissions-compliant, performing well below the allowable thresholds for the FTP, US06, and HWFET tests. Performed independently by the full-time engineering staff at SEMA utilizing a 48-inch AVL-Zöllner 2WD emissions testing chassis dynamometer; AVL iGEM CVS system; AVL i60 AMA Emissions bench with HC, NOx, CO, CO2, and CH4 analyzers; and AVL iGEM Vehicle software suite for test cell integration and control.

With the OTT CE calibration being tested in a CARB-approved emissions laboratory and having been awarded the CE status, you'll now have documentation to present to inspection officials validating that the program in your ECU has lower emissions output than what the vehicle was originally certified to.

With the CARB EO, it will be 50 State legal.

It's the difference between a multinational corp having targets to hit (with a small margin to account for some variation possible in testing) vs an aftermarket company wanting to be able to show they worked for as wide a berth as possible to regulators and inspectors. This is good news, and very good to hear.

Would or does that apply to 4WD testing if there is such a thing?

Emissions concern is only thing holding me back from a tune on my 4.0L 1GR-FE. Please keep us posted on timeline.

I’ll be sure to update. It’ll probably be a year or so before we have CARB OE on the 2G 4.0L calibration as we have the 5.7L Tundra in the works at this time.

For those of us considering getting a tune... will we require a reflash once the 3rd gen Manual tunes become "Carb Certified"? Or are we covered having the ECU flashed in advance?

Also - can we run the current flash whilst running any octane 87-91, without consequence? I have no personal need to squeeze every last HP out of a tune for this vehicle - rather, I am often in very rural areas in Canada and Alaska.. where I would wager advertised octane is less than reliably accurate. So, I guess the simple question is... is this a "safe" tune for any pump, like any other OE vehicle?

    Appreciate your work on this!

We're thrilled to offer this to the community!

Once we secure CARB EO for the 3rd Gen Calibration, there won't be a need to flash back to stock for emissions/inspection compliance. Those who purchase the OTT-CE calibration file will be automatically included in the CARB EO program, receiving their CARB documentation/sticker at no additional cost.

The OTT-CE file will incorporate the "octane learning" function of the OE calibration, allowing it to operate on a range of fuels from 85 to 93 and beyond (we recommend using 87 or higher for optimal performance/economy). While we always suggest quality fuel from Tier 1 facilities, it's important to note that it is recommended but not required.

I carry octane booster for those scenarios just to be safe.
