Not really. All monitors are ready in about 20-25 miles of variables speed driving, except Evap that make take a few driving cycles.

I would do the upgrade from that tune to OTT, as you were intending. Night and day difference. You won’t be disappointed and I bet you’ll wish you had done it from the beginning.
I have ran all three and prefer Blackhawk, but OTT is a great tune.

No need to switch, just upgrade...after years things have continued to evolve. Why pay for another tune when you can have the most recent evolution out there? ...don't settle for an older tune, go with KDMAX Pro V10 and get in person or remote help right at home.

To get the thread back on track a bit here is a link that shows where the aircare roadside vans will be. It’s nice this is an option since you don’t even have to go into the station/can drive by one running errands etc. They usually update where they’ll be the week of. I don’t think OP’s intention was to start a tune competition here.

    https://aircarecolorado.com/locations/van-locations/?tab=jl_magic_tabs_friday_current_week_gix2

“To qualify for RapidScreen, a vehicle must record two clean readings within the last 14 months and at least 60 days prior to the vehicle's registration renewal month. For example, if your vehicle's registration month is July, the two clean readings must occur between May 1 of the previous year and May 1 of the renewal year.”

I’ve also heard the best way to get a clean reading is to keep a consistent speed while gradually increasing rpm’s.

I can run do a monitor re-set (everything but evap) in a 15-20 mile road test on just about any car out there. If I know the specific drive cycle, maybe less.
Some Subaru vehicles will run evap while driving (2005 Legacy GT I had would run at a steady 45 mph).

I won't even get into some of the main reasons this
Not a fan of car salesman tuners who once worked in the KDMAX group and praised it daily, but hey if the owner is happy the owner is happy and that's what matters. I've been fortunate enough to switch a few owners now from ott that felt is eas lacking and they couldn't get proper support...so owners do have preferences and professional support matters. This video or any amount of dyno runs doesn't reflect that.

Hopefully every owner gets what they are looking for and on the topic of this thread that they get the proper support and options just like this owner no matter what tune option they go with. Service matters most to him and I know to many of the passion tuning resource out there no matter the offering.

Good luck to all facing this issue - truly the best option is to always use the roadside option if you can. Beats the station test. Unfortunately you do not get notice of the results of the roadside screening until you receive your registration notice.

Definitely more convenient than having to go to the testing station, but not free. They add the testing fee to your registration renewal amount so you pay it either way.

That and owner preference coupled with setup all seems to make huge factors. At this point I'd say go with whoever is local or easy to work with.PXL_20220912_121256185.jpg

I'm not nearly smart or qualified enough to interpret data but from personal experience the difference is that ott is more aggressive at take off but it has a "dip" right after . Kdmax is less aggressive but more linear if that makes sense. Both on their "sport" throttle setting.

What's crazy that just trying a different throttle option changes that feel. Owners just need to find the right balance of what they want/need and get the right smooth shifting takeoffs with an improvement to power and throttle.

I never thought to look for that of the listing of fees - I just focused on the need or no need for having to go get an emission test. No free lunch for anyone. Hopefully the slugs and leaches not renewing their registrations will get hit with a life changing bill/fee that will send them to the local bus stop or better yet terminal to go back to where they came from.

Perfect world yes re the slugs and leeches. Reality of life in general though tells me that the people not doing the right things usually have more rights.

Sweet. Go get an OBDII smog test without evap readiness and let us know how it works out.

On my Tahoe it took over half a tank (bigger than the Taco’s) for evap to complete. I never checked on the Taco, maybe it’s faster; IDGAF really. Swap your ECU then

To be fair, half a tank on Tahoe gets you 25 miles.

RI allows one readiness monitor to be incomplete as long as there are no codes. Evap incomplete would pass.
