    Oh well, T
My issue only happens when the truck is warming up. Just after the temp gauge 1/4 through about 1/2 I get the clunk just before coming to a stop. The dealer may have to keep it overnight and try to replicate it the next day.

My issue just started reoccurring this morning. I have an existing appointment on 1/5, I'll add this to my list...

Wrong. I got the update Rev 1, and I have the sticker. I did have to fight with them to apply the sticker per the TSB, so it would be possible to have the update without the sticker.

You have to read the TSB and them convince them that you have 1 or more of the issues that the TSB was created to address...!!

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
They didn't argue about applying the TSB for me. They did argue about covering it as waranty work. I just kept pointing to the text that says 96 month, 80000 mile waranty coverage on the doc and they finally gave in.

I told them I had a shift slip once each morning, which is/was a common problem and I suspect it's not something the want to bother trying to recreate. They volunteered the TSB. The results were nice.

    The shift slip is fixed.
The nice surprise was how much better it drives around town. It holds gears longer, downshifts quicker. It was noticeable immediately. My highway shifting suddenly sucked again, but that has worked itself out.

BUT I was in the camp that tolerated the shifting, never liked it, got terrible mileage for the first several thousand miles. If you already think your transmission works well then yours might have been better than mine from the factory. What I'm calling an improvement seems to be what others have had all along.

Please report back on whether this improved driving performance sticks, or if the "learning" ruins it all for you after two or three hundred miles.

0077-16 rev1 is the latest. I was disappointed to hear that the young kid in service had “made a mistake” in telling me there was a new update.
My dealer is giving me a free map update since my 2017 is loaded with 2015 map data (version 05-35-51, May 2015)

I've put about 2100 miles on it since then, mostly city, and I'm still happy. I'm at the point where the only negative thing I could say about my transmission is that it's slow to downshift if I floor it. That's pretty rare so it's not an issue, it's just the only negative comment I can make right now. Very happy with the truck.

I took my 2016 to the dealer in December '16 for trans. shifting. They told me the trans. update had been done at the factory. They also ''checked'' the fluid, I was only there for 2 hrs., and said it was 1/2 qt. low. So, is this revised TSB the same as the one that was already done?

I believe it is the same one. I had one of the 1st 2017 models and bought it the last week of Aug 2016. I was having the shift flair when cold and erratic shifting. The NOvember 2016 TSB added some early 2017 models to the included VIN's and mine was in that group. They updated it for me I think in Sept 2017.

Assuming I didn't miss anything does anyone know of ECU updates for the 2019 Tacomas? I have a 2019 TRD OR MT Tacoma and just hit my 5K checkup at the dealer.
As weird as it sounds it feels like the ECU was potentially updated as it lost it's weird rev hang dealio that always annoyed me when shifting from 2nd to 3rd if I got on it.

It was literally that, that prompted me to see if there was even such a thing as updates for the ECU from the dealers (no placebo affect here lol).

are you suspecting that they did update you but you didn't know?

yes, updates are available, but not sure if your truck is eligible. you can find out your current version with Techstream. if you have the latest then that's all you gotta know i suppose. or maybe leave well-enough alone? rev hang gets no luv out here.
