    Hi Folks,

I've got a 2003 3.4L V6 4wd Tacoma and the ECU just went bad due to water damage. It had corrosion along the back-right portion of the board (side closest to the passenger door as it sits in the truck). Just spent 10 minutes spraying a hose into the cowl and on the windshield, and I can't see any water leaking in... Is there another spot that I should test or is there something I'm missing?

If the board is badly corroded you probably destroyed some of the copper traces on the PCB. If that's the case I'd go buy a new ECU especially with how important they are. You can try using some 99% Isopropyl to clean the board as best as you can. Not sure where the water would be coming from.

Do you have a hole in the floor in front of the ECM ??

Unless you were using the truck as a water craft and had water deep enough to reach the ECM

With the ECM mounted parallel to the floor water just about has to be spraying onto the plugs and filtering inside .

AC box I don`t know what that is do you mean the Evaporator coil ??

Well if I say Firewall it confuses people most times

Like I said a hole in the front section of the cab allowing water to spray in on the ECM but then there should also be water on the floor

Unless it has been taken apart except for the electrical connections it is pretty water tight.
