When I first got my '23 TRD OR and used the remote start, I don't remember the lights flashing this much. I took a trip on the search feature and nothing popped up, but for the past many months, my lights will do the three flashes when I press the button the remote, then flash seven times. Other internet searches can only give me this, and it won't give me any ideas on what kind of malfunction. Just don't to keep pissing off the neighbors with my LED's

"If your 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD OR's remote start makes your headlights blink seven times, it may indicate a malfunction"

(Edit) my lights will do the three flashes when I press the button on the remote, then they flash five times after the start initiates, and then it flashes seven times. I was payng more attention this morning

Mine has recently started same as well . Same as your.model but double cab sr5 OR . Same search results as well and I just noticed the date on this thread and kinda find odd same year models same thing around same time . I have o other issues electrical just regular issues of various vibration and whinning sound coming from underneath and Jerky acceleration when creeping slow when pulling into places or driveway . . Pointless to take to the toyota I got mine from cause they will always say it's supposed to do that or it's normal or cone up with total bull shit asomg as still under warranty . Theyxare warranted to not fix anything or speculate a cause until it's a total failure and malfunction until it has disabled the trucks ability to drive completely . It can be an electrical short but no one will know or will attempt to look into until it catches on fire while driving and would have to use the toyota tow 24/7 they so graciously offer for the extra 4k that insurance already does and is the same exact number and service provider as progressive RSA dispatch. If I had to do the yota techs job I've already paid theme for in purchase I would take an educated guess that it's battery in our key fob getting low but still plenty of juice to last awhile so maybe can have a battery on stand by for when time comes . Another guess is maybe it indicates that the air or heat system setting for on when crank is activated so maybe letting us know ok I do have the heat on or ac on warming or cooling . Your toyota dealer might be honest folk and actually give insight . Let me know if they do I might try changing battery since ive already have a new one I was gonna replace on my old car for remote start distant issues before I totaled it .
