Woozie stock height will not be a problem. There is a fj on 265 duratracks comeing. And im on my winter tires 265's. As for the cb not a requirement for this run. But would be nice to have some sort of communications. I have a cb and frs radio.

    Hey guys
Sorry but a little off topic and I might as well ask the locals instead of posting in the wheels/tires section. I got a stock 2010 trd double cab sport and decided its time for the stock tires to go (pretty sure they are duelers). I'm pretty set on 265/70/17 duratracs. Couple questions...anyone find a good price for these in Edmonton? and just to confirm, I shouldnt have any rubbing problems correct? I was also considering the bfgs all terrains (decent price for them at Costco) but leaning towards the duratracs cause I hear they are great in snow. Thanks for the help!

i can't help you with know if that size will rub but go with the duratrac as its a way better tire then the bfg

I've had a few sets of BFG AT and they are great tires for the first 6 months. They wear down super fast. Ok in winter, when you air down past the safe point. I will definitely be looking for a different tire as I'm moving on from light offroad.
Not knocking the BFGs at all as they are great tires. I have seen a lot of people go with duratracs and have nothing bad to say. I will be investigating them as a possible next tire choice.

Thanks for the info, I'm 99% sure I will go with the duratracs now. Just have to make sure I have no rubbing issues.

IgnorantlyAlberta, I will let you know if I find a decent price for them. The duratracs are super pricey. I did the online quote on the fountain tire website...5 tires is pretty much $1500.00. I don't wheel at all and only do city/highway driving but I rather have duratracs since most of the time its winter driving in Edmonton (sadly...3 months of summer..feels like 9 winter haha)

    Haha no problem.

Tire warehouse does pretty good pricing.
Also check with sherwood park toyota. I have a connect at tire warehouse and they still couldn't come close to sherwood park yota.

Also I love the snow haha. Keep it coming.

im the same tire size you want on a set of FJ wheels on my truck and theres no rubbing issues. i have husky mudflaps on the front (guy before me cut the oem ones off) and they only rubbed when i didnt have the inside screw in. zero issues since i put new screws in. and ive been quite happy with there performance in the snow, little dicy on ice but thats given when driving in this city haha

Check trucks plus, I'm running fierce attitude and I'm very impressed with traction in snow and wear.

A little late notice but TORE is doing New Years again, big bonfire, a ton of fire works and night wheeling. It was a hell of a party last year.

The first thing I bought for my truck was winter tires because I didn't want to go through winter on those stock tires so I mounted a set of studded General Altimax Arctic winter tires on the stock rims in 265/70/17 on a stock height truck and had no rubbing issues. Another upside to that size is it will get your speedo reading correctly.

I still use those in the winter but have since lifted the truck and put on 295/65/18 Duratracs and can say that they are a good all round tire and don't seem to wear down much so I expect a long life from them if that will help you justify the expense. I did run them all of last winter despite having the other studded tires; I tell myself it was to test out the Duratracs in the winter but actually i was just too lazy to change them and I liked the way the bigger Duratracs looked. So I can comment on their winter perfomance. Way better than the stock tires obviously but probably just as obvious they are not quite good as as my thinner265 vs. 295) studded Generals on Edmonton's snowy/icy roads, with the exception of deep snow, I'd give that to the Duratracs.

All said if you are only gonna have one set of tires/rims I don't think you could go wrong. Canadian tire has them for $306.99 so similar in price to what you were saying. I bought mine from Wheels Plus, good guys to deal with. You probably could save yourself a few bucks and only buy 4, for all spares ever get use unless you wheel a lot.
