After 4 years, my battery gave up. Every time my OEM batteries die, I get one from autozone. I like Duralast Gold, but the auto parts employee recommended the platinum, which is an EFB battery and it supposed to be better and is only $20 more. Have you guys got EFB batteries and if so, do you recommend them?

My understanding of them was they were for vehicles with stop/start technology, l would probably stick with a regular or AGM battery.

Start-Stop.... WTF is with that I mean, in Phoenix when temps hit 120+ you don't want your car shutting on and off,
you want the fluids running -

    Two things I'd never have: Start-and-Stop and a Key-Fob. Thank-Gawd the SR5 uses neither... I'd rather walk.

I have been googling them and they supposed to be better than regular batteries, but not as good as AGM. You are correct, they are recommended for vehicles with stop/start technology, but also for vehicles with aftermarket electronics such as sound systems, light bars etc.

My wife's highlander have the stop/start tech. I hate it, but you can disable it and when the A/C is running the engine it won't turn off.

I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee that had it and I hated it too. At least there was a button to turn it off but you had to remember to push it each time you started the thing. Now, push button start with the fob I like.

I guess you are right. Who cares if is a AGM, EFB or regular battery. I'll be replacing it within 5 years and all of them will supply the voltage needed for the taco.

Dude hasn't gotten on board with the idea of a key fob, start stop will never be an issue for him lol.

I have a Lexus Keycard that would blow his mind.

Don't hate. I have a little button that makes it a non option, however in reality, you don't even know it started and stopped and started again. Starters on these vehicles are way over designed to handle the additional load.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
like ABS brakes.. how is this for an idea… we make the brakes release if you have to panic stop.

Just seems like it would be ultra weird with a Manual Trans.

I don't think it can be done with MT.
