So I have had my raptor lights piggy backed on my inj fuse for about 3 weeks. I go out to my truck (night time) and the damn raptor lights are on.... I also hear a droning noise towards the rear possibly fuel pump? Wining away. Anyone else experience this?

Literally same thing happens to me but more frequently. I ran outside to see if I could notice anything and I heard my fuel pump or some kind of pressure check/ test running in the rear near the fuel tank... Once that noise stopped the lights shut off

So, here's WHY yours works differently.

According to the schematic provided by @caribe makaira in post #14, the 3.5 L V6 and the 2.7 L 4 cyl are different.

I had to really look for it, but it's there. Look for the *1 and *2 sub-notes. :notsure:

    La raison est:
The 4banger INJ relay gets active due to its tie with the pump leak function. So when you use the 10A ING fuse for say the grill lamps, they'll be ON until the system leak runs its course.

    upload_2020-12-4_23-57-28.jpg
Engine module has 2 fuses that always have juice. Not tied to IGN.

Well shoot lol, I did it the right way by feeding it up thru the side box. Anyone have any recommendations as to where I should relocate this?

Referring to Caribe's schematics in post #45, the one on the left is for a V6, and the one on the right is for a 4 cylinder.
It "looks" like either of the 3 fuses in the gray box should work for a 4 cylinder.

I won't bet on it, but it may be worth trying. :notsure:

Sorry I have a 4Runner not a Tacoma but this thread looked like exactly what in am trying to do so just chiming in with a question. I am looking to hook up some raptor lights to my grill (2018 4Runner TRD) the kit came with a 15 amp fuse in the “add a fuse” assembly. The INJ fuse (where I plan on connecting it) is a 10 Amp fuse. So question 1. Do I take the 10 and add it to the add a fuse and have a 15 and a 10 or do I take the 10 out and just use the 15Amp that came already in the add a fuse and that’s it, or replace the 15 with a ten and run 2 10 amp fuses in the add a fuse.
Thanks for any advice. Definitely not an electrician lol.

The add a fuse typically has 2 slots, in one slot you put the fuse that powers the factory circuit your tapping into, in the other slot you put the fuse for the circuit you want to add.
With that being said 15 amps sounds like alot for a few LED lights, does it say what the current rating is on them?
Personally I would put no bigger than a 10 amp fuse in an add a circuit as vehicle wiring nowdays is designed for the rated fuse and no more, you start getting much higher than that and things start melting.
If you need more than 10 amps I'd suggest using a relay instead of pulling current from a factory circuit.

I have a 4 cylinder and my raptor lights are only on when my headlights are on. Can I switch the swap a fuse to a different location so the grill lights are always on when the ignition is on? I know that having them on with drl doesn’t really work unless you know how to rewire harnesses or something so I don’t really care about that. I’d be fine with just having the lights turn on with ignition

Use INJ. You don’t have a discrete DRL anyway, it’s combined with the turn, though that could be a fun option to tap both sides for 3 lights per side. Or just the outer and let inner feed from both with diodes. S, that would be pretty trick.

    @Puppypunter you like that idea?

Oh, the fuse box layout is different from the one @caribe makaira shows?

Seems like it would still be indicated on the inside of the fuse box cover.
