As title reads im getting a weird egg smell every once in a while out of my ac vents. señor
google is saying it could be the hydrogen sulfide from the catalytic converter, which can be caused by a bad catalytic converter or fuel mixture problems. My question is wouldn't a bad converter be tripping the engine light? Im not getting any trouble codes or pending codes. Is there something else that could be causing this smell that i can check? It smells like im hot boxing my truck with farts for anyone that gets in.

If your cat is putting our egg smells you'd smell it outside the truck. Not just in the vent sometimes.

I find that it helps to dry out the AC whenever I use it. I turn it off a few minutes before I turn the engine off to evaporate any moisture that has accumulated.

Problem solved. Visual inspection showed OPs battery was leaking slightly (source of sulfur) and the AC was drawing the smell into the cabin. Slow crank was a symptom. Swapping battery now.
