I just want to point out that my fronts were loose. I had wished they came with the double sided tape like the rear. They don't chatter in the wind but you can do it with your hands.

I recently added small slivers of double sided tape pads. PUT THEM ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE WINDOW or the window will tear them off. They are held very tight now.

I love the look of these visors!

I got a set through Autoanything because I could not find it USAutopart. First problem: There was only 3 pieces in the box instead of 4. Second, they have tape on them. Are they suppose to have tape on them if they are in channel? third, the box and invoice says 05. I have an 09 DC.

... another reason for window visors: In the winter when its snowing or freezing rain and ice freezes up on your windshield wipers, and you have to have the defrost on high heat so your wipers will work. It will help keep the cab cooler. I was sweating my ass off in the cab this winter and will be buying them for next winter.

Not to sound like an ass, did you disassemble the box to look for the 4th piece? Was the box sealed when it arrived (could've fallen out during transport)? The double cab pack should obviously have 4 pieces. If nothing else, I would call AutoAnything.

Only the rear windows on the double cab use tape. You should actually prefer tape on all 4; I added tape to my front visors. This holds them firm. Some are cut slightly different and visors that are too small will have room to move around.

Be sure to use the tape on the OUTSIDE part of the visor. You do not want your window to touch the tape.

    05-09 are the same.

The pieces come separately in plastic bags and there was only 3. I have an email out to customer service but no response yet. Anyone know for sure if the EGR slimline parts number 644981 is an in channel visor? The tape is definitely on the inside (window side).

i had them on my last couple of toyotas and they are nice to have in inclement weather and yes they suck the smoke out a little better. when you crack your window not so much air rushes in.

Now I can't recall where the tape was on the rear windows. There was NO tape on the front windows. If you need to add tape, it needs to be added to the outer side (not the window side).

Sorry, I can't confirm that you ordered the right product.

Autoanything does not list an EGR in channel visor for 05- 09 models. They are trying to sell me an AVS. I really like the slim look of the EGR.

That sucks! I suppose you didn't know it fell out right away?

Any other comments on installation, problems with that window, etc? Just wondering why it fell out.

How clean or new were your window channels when you installed? I suppose if they are dirty, the tape will pick up the dirt and not with window channel.

    Sorry to hear that.

I heard a noise, but didn't realize right away that's what it was. Truck was maybe 2 weeks old when installed, so they were still wicked clean. Ordered another full set today. Will keep the rears in case it happens again, but the fronts will be put up for sale (no way those are ever going to fly off).

I use my truck for work (office) and when it's raining and you're inside and it's a nice temp, you do not need the truck running! Sean

    If
you live were it's hot (like Georgia), I like to leave my windows cracked when parked. Without the vent-visors, the seats get wet when it rain unexpectatly.
    Nuff said:)

I had the "in-channel" ones installed on my Dodge Dakota, they created wind noise and scratched the top of the windows after a few months of up and down. I went with the stick on ones on my new Tacoma, since my truck is a dark gray, they down stand out and are quite.

Noise from the wind or noise from fluttering in the channel? I do get vibration noise if the window is down but not past the vent (like down 1"). When it does it, I just put it down a hair more.

Any truck with vent visors will have added wind noise. That will be the same with in-channel or stick on. Actually, I think the in-channel are more aerodynamic and would create LESS wind noise than the stick-ons that stick further out.

Oh well...this thread is not to debate in-channel VS stick on. It is to help those who have decided they want the (better option :D) in-channel visors.
