EGR - to delete or not delete, plus what happens (if anything) after its removed?

    For emission: what did you do?
    I know your 1996 v6 EGR is the same as mine, did you remove all the EGR stuff then run the 10k resistor?
    Or leave everything there with block off?
    I have headers and the new supercharger place for the EGR is different than my old supercharger and I don’t think there is a tube that is made for the header to the new 1320 supercharger EGR port that will fit.
    So I will have to do emissions in 9 months and wonder if the 10k resistor is all I need with all the EGR stuff gone as they don’t do visual inspection just treadmill for my year.

    Yes I removed all the EGR stuff, did the block offs, then placed that 10k resistor in the plug that go to your EGR, near the throttle body.

    no visual inspection in CO that I’ve ever had. I know that my own obd2 plug readers know that the EGR isnt operating, but I think they just chalk that up to a faulty obd2 reader when doing emissions, I do recall that the paper said “faulty obd2” or maybe “faulty CEL” but that wasn’t a fail maybe I can find that old report to remind myself.

    But When your numbers are all good, since there is no CEL with the resistor, they don’t care figuring out why the egr isnt operating.

    Just did emissions and passed with flying colors.
    I deleted the egr valve and egr exhaust tube and unplugged all the vacuum lines and block off plates.
    I connected 10k resistor I got from LCE and soldered it into the wire harness after cutting the harness a few inch back.
    Easy easy and No fault codes
