I had a check engine light come on ran the computer on it the code came up as the EGR Valve solenoid was bad. I am having a hard time just finding the solenoid. Was curious if I replace the whole EGR Valve itself would that fix the problem or is it two separate parts?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
That light came on a couple of times and I just cleared the code and it's never come back. I think it may have something to do with shutting the truck off when it's hot and a certain temp (as it's cooling down- example going into a store for a few minutes and the sensors cooling down at different rates) the computer doesn't understand the difference and sets the code. Again, mine hasn't come on in a year or more. I believe you're referring to the valve onto top of the exhaust manifold air switching valve?
