Ok I’ve read the entire eibach forum and gone back and forth about this for weeks lol.

I can’t decide if I should do the first notch with 1.5 deaver and over load in

    OR

Second notch with 2in aal and over load.

Will have a soft topper in the back it’s looking like, to start.

As far as use goes, I’ve gotten involved in some local groups so I’m going to go wheeling with them as much as possible.

I do know I’m going to get a full leaf pack soon. A friend has a level 3 rxt he was going to sell. So probably was going to get that.

so thought I’d get the aal temporarily.

And eventually I know I want to do steel bumpers in front and rear (just don’t know how soon)

and still need to do sliders and front skid plate eventually as well

For now I just want to do some wheeling with the group with what I’ll start with “to get my feet wet”

I'm on the first notch with mine. I have the Wheelers 1.5" 3 leaf progressive AAL but only got 1.15"-ish so I put the stock overload back in to get closer to 1.5". I have a softopper as well, plus slider, front skid, and Martin OR roofrack with two boxes - so a decent amount of weight, but not a ton. It has a little rake, which I prefer.

If you're doing the install yourself, I'd do first notch, since you can go back and switch it later. If having a shop do it, I'd probably just have them do second notch to avoid paying labor twice.

I think I have my final recommendation for you, since your future setup goals have changed a handful of times over the week lol Ditch the Eibach fronts altogether and bite the bullet for some adjustable coilovers. You're obviously not buying all of this armor at one time, and your ride height is going to change every time you add something new to weigh it down. Its gonna be a gamble going to that 2nd notch with stock weight up front. There's no harm doing it, but you run the possibility of being nose high, and especially if you start adding weight in the rear first.

I'd say take whatever money you planned on putting towards an aftermarket front bumper, and invest it into your suspension, in preparation for adding a bumper at a later date. Then you can have the ability to adjust as you want it over the next years to come.

Lol! My goals seem to keep growing as I go further in the rabbit hole.

How much more are coil overs typically?

i did decide yesterday after you commented to go with the aal for now then change to rxt or deaver as I’m building

maybe I should do the same with the front! Start at one then move to second

I’ve seen so many that look good on the second though, lol first seems to vary almost

I'll try and run out at lunch and grab some.

I think that @Off Topic Guy might have a point about adjustable coilovers. I saw a few pics of 2nd notch with stock front weight and it looks a little nose high.

    Welcome to TW :spending:

Its extremely easy to do. What lift height do you ultimately want? Thats really going to determine what your options truly are.

I’m ok in the twos. Both the first and second notch fit larger tires

If fitting tires is the end goal, I need you to start down the rabbit hole of wheel specs and alignment, and figure lift out after that lol.

Those SPCs will definitely help if/when you move up to 33's. Just gonna go back to one of the very first things I told you though; be realistic. If I had been realistic with my build, I would have saved much of my money spent on the flashy things and put it towards better suspension components. Don't get me wrong, what I have is sufficient, but like you, I probably would benefit from the option of adjustability instead of riding on stiff notch 2 fronts until I buy a bumper years later. I did the same in the rear; heavy duty leaf packs with no added weight, with anticipation of rear bumper/decked/etc. Building it out with your weight in mind should be one of the more important factors. Thats tough to do when you're looking at budget options and intend to add more weight over time.

You have been fight this question of which notch to go with over countless posts and threads, so I am gonna suggest.. Eibach Pro-Truck Stage 2 coil over. No clip to consider... if you want to adjust the lift, jack the truck up, removing weight off strut you want to adjust and use supplied tool. Drop, measure repeat until you have what you desire.

Your looking at about a $200 difference with the Stage 2 coilovers compared to the stage 1. Also can get a 1/2" more lift according to the specs. They show out of stock but Tirerack is a supplier and they always seem to have stock. I have the Eibach springs with my Bilstein 5100 shocks in front and Bitstein 5100s in back with a 3 AAL Icon leafpack with the OL leaf in and I have a slight rake and tows my 21' TT really well (with the help of a weight distribution hitch of course)
