Hey everyone, I am pretty new here and have only made a few posts. I have been reading and researching for a long time now on tacoma world looking for what lift I want to go with. Finally decided that I am going to pull the trigger on this bad boy:

The eibach / bilstein lift with AAL in the back.

I drive a 2002 Double Cab 4x4 that is currently completely stock. I am definitely going with this lift because my birthday is coming up and my parents said they would give me some funding towards it! Hoorah!

So that being said, I am not mechanically inclined at all. I can change headlights, tires, etc and do basic things like that, but I have never installed shocks, coils and an AAL and a diff drop. My dad is going to help me through it, but would anyone be willing to help me with it? I am located in Northern California, I am willing to drive anywhere in the northern region to get this thing installed!

Okay, enough with that. Next I want to buy 285/75/16 tires. I have a few questions if anyone could help. I know I will have to trim a bit to fit them, which is fine by me. I was wondering what wheels should I go with? I have no clue in hell what backspacing they should be or if I need wheel spacers, etc. I am clueless. Can anyone tell me what I need for the wheels and my tires to fit? I am most likely going with BFG AT KO's but other suggestions are appreciated.

SO basically, who can help with my lift install?, what do I have to do once I have the lift installed in terms of fitting 33 inch tires on there: What wheels, backspacing, wheel spacers (if any), etc.

Any help is really appreciated guys.

As for installing the lift, as long as your dad has some mechanical aptitude, you guys should be able to handle it fine. Go to O Reilly's and get the free spring compressor rental. The biggest pain is usually breaking seized hardware loose and prying the UCA downward to make enough space to wedge the coil assy in or out.

As for wheels, I would buy an 8" deep rim with a 3.75" backspacing. With that backspace, you won't need any spacers with your 285s. Find a rim you like in that spec, throw it on and go! Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

I currently have that set up. Soon to be exchanged for eibachs and all pro leaf set. If you do a search for the install you should find everything you need. I bought everything and took it to a local shop with a "good reputation". They looked aty truck and said it wouldn't work. I went to my dads place and did the install. Neither one of us ever had experience with this but we had basic car/truck knowledge. Tacoma world will show you what you need. Use the search button, become a little obsessed ;)

Awesome sounds good. I think well be able to install it. As for the wheels, can you recommend some good ones that aren't too expensive with the same specs you mentioned? Also, with the 3.75 back spacing how much will the tires stick out?
