I have been going back and forth trying to figure my lift out and was sure that I was going to go with Kings or ADS w/ remote resis, but after talking to the shop about my intended purposes, they said for my application that Falcons w, the 1.25" block would be fine and that the going with shocks with remote resis would be overkill, so now I'm back to square one on determining what I want. If I can achieve what I'm looking to achieve at a cheaper price point and still do what I want without pissing away money for no reason, I'm going to. My question now is, of these three Eibach Pro Lift, Bilstein 5100, or TeraFlex Falcon does one have a significant advantage or disadvantage over the others? I keep hearing about needing shims and such. Is there one of these where I don't need added stuff to the lift kit?

My main goal is to fit 285/70/17's and be able to use the rig for overlanding. I won't be rock crawling or doing the Baja 500. It will be a daily driver 80% of the time and be used on forest service and remote roads, but nothing like the Rubicon Trail. Max load I'll be carrying in the bed of the truck is between 400-500 lbs when overlanding, otherwise on average it will be around 200 lbs with the bed rack and RTT. Cab when overloading will have a load of about 350 lbs when overlanding, otherwise about 200 lbs on average.

On a daily basis I drive about 16 miles of pure washboard each way before I hit asphalt.

The shop only carries Falcon, but is willing to install the others should I decide to go that way. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

How much lift are you trying to get when it’s all said and done?

For a 2” lift, I’d get the Eibach kit and a 2” AAL, leaving the overload leaf in since you’ll always have a load in the bed.

The Bilstiens are less expensive but I’d rather get a front lift with springs and have a longer rear shock. If were going with a 1” lift the Bilsteins would be my choice with a block in the back or a wheelers 1.5” single AAL.

    With 285’s you’ll need UCA’s and/or cab mount chop.

It sounds like the goals for your truck are very similar to mine. I just picked mine up yesterday from having the Falcon tow/haul kit installed. I went with the AAL in the rear instead of the block, and 285/70r17 wildpeaks with SPC UCA’s. So far in the 80 miles I have driven it had been great, but I will update this post this weekend with pictures and a few hundred more miles put on the truck.

So far after about 300 miles I have no complaints. Keep in mind I was on stock sport suspension which wasn’t great to begin with, but the ride is much better on road and night and day off road. With the AAL I can keep the rear shocks on the 1st setting and I have no issues with the tent and rack.

Also since I am running stock Toyota wheels I am running 1.25 spidertrax spacers for now until I can get wheels with a more aggressive offset.

will the AAL void your teraflex warranty? I know there suspension setup is specifically designed for the blocks.

Can you post some shots showing how the 17x7 SEMA wheels look with the spidertrax? Its frustrating, they are just on the wrong side of aggressive in factory offset, but not sure if spidertrax push them out too far. I know people say run the FN SEMA wheels but a) those guys don't seem to respond to anything anymore b) i prefer OEM and c) I actually don't like the concavity of the 17x8 reps - seems to ruin the subtle concave profile of the OEMs.

This setup was recommended by the shop I went with who is a teraflex dealer and have the same setup on their shop truck. I hope it doesn’t but I guess I’ll deal with that if the time comes.

This is about the only picture I currently have. I will try to work on getting a better one when I can.

I have no armor, no extra weight yet.. With the TeraFlex lift alone (front shocks set on stock height) and while still on stock wheels/tires I ended up getting a vibration after a couple thousand miles, which ended up being the needle bearing. I rode it out until I got the 285/75R17 Duratracs, still on the Sport wheels with 1.25" spacers. I had some tire rub in front so I had the cmc done, trimmed a bit of the front lower inner fenders, replaced the needle bearing with the ECGS bearing and had the front shocks set to the highest setting. Ride is still good. On pavement it's a little bouncy and I can feel the more aggressive tread pattern on pavement, no complaints offroad. For what it's worth, I had an alignment done after the install of the lift, but not since putting on the 285's. And at this point I don't think I need upgraded UCA's.
