Not a stupid question at all. Every kit is bound to settle, the amount will vary as well

This is exactly what I’m going for. I’m just waiting for Wheelers Off-road to ship since the 21st of May. I can’t tell too well from the pictures, but does the truck still have a rake?

Oddly enough it doesn't seem like it. I did a quick run around with the tape measure and it seems to have pretty much leveled the truck out completely. The driver side rear corner seems to be sitting an inch or so higher when I did the measurement but I had a near empty tank of gas, I'll go measure again this evening.

So either the AAL didn't bump me up 1.5" fully, or the front shocks are actually pushing me a bit above 2.25" of lift, I'll have to double check my pre-lift numbers to be sure.

Did you leave the overload leaf in or remove it when you did your install?

Per the instructions I took the overload leaf out. Headstrong recommended it get removed as it would negate the benefits and ride quality of the designed AAL kit.

@HeadStrong Off-Road Can you chime in on this? Would removing the overload actual net under a 1.5" lift overall? It looked as though each leaf in your kit is 1/2" thick, adding to 1.5" total but the overload leaf is something like 5/8" thick, so does this mean I'm really only getting 7/8" or so of lift from the AAL? Again, I'll have to compare to my pre-lift numbers but I was figuring I should have kept about 1" of forward rake but I'm sitting more or less level at the moment. No complaining by any means, just curious.

I love the AAL kit, and even my guy who worked with me on the install said he loved it and couldn't give enough praise for it, rating it higher than the Icon kits he's worked with in regards to ease and quality of installation.

I know that Headstrong does recommend taking out the overload, as their AAL was designed to be used that way, but there are definitely quite a few users of their kit who have left theirs in. I believe some are trying to get more lift, others for more payload capacity.

I have a Leer shell and the OEM bed mat in the back, so I am assuming that my truck will sit lower in the rear than a just a stock Tacoma. For that reason, I am planning on leaving mine in when I do my install. If it rides too stiff in the rear, then I will pull it out. I will post up here when I do. At the moment, I am still waiting on my kit due to delays over at Eibach due to that Corona Virus that came to us as all as a present from the great nation of China....

Were you asking them about the gen 1 kit or the gen 2 kit?
Or was that for both kits?

I think he means Stage 1 vs Stage 2 in regards to which you inquired about with Eibach.
