I’ve had this lift installed twice. Once on the first notch and it rubbed, so I had it set to the second notch and it still rubbed a tad until I got my caster set properly on my alignment. It rides like shit on the second notch and I’m tired of getting beat around in this little ass truck. I’m thinking of setting it back to first notch or going back to stick height. I have JBA high caster upper control arms too.

It’s not that bad. I’m sure the cmc will take care of most if not all. When I ride around by myself I’ll hear maybe once turning into a drive way. Or backing up and turning. Other than I don’t rub.

All I’m saying is you can make an educated guess as to why they set it at the first clip. You’re asking multiple people who have done so, why. It’s not hard to comprehend. And I’m saying this again, you’ve inquired multiple times on the first notch.
Correct me if I’m wrong, not you specifically, but going to the 2nd or 3rd notch doesn’t equate to more lift. At least not from my understanding. All it is doing is adding preload? Which increases stiffness for added weight.

I thought these forums were here to ask general questions about parts, and other people's set up. Not to get hounded by the question count police. I only asked 2 people. Making it sound like I asked this entire thread.

Going to the 2nd or 3rd notch does actually equate to more lift. Its definitely designed to be used on notch 2/3 when adding weight to counter that extra baggage by adding more preload, but essentially, that preload is lifting the truck, stock or added weight.

don't worry bud, its the internet. Everyone has a bigger hot dog than the next. I think the simple answer to your question was answered a few times, but maybe your question wasn't the info you were actually after. Are you more interested on why people choose the 1st notch, or more interested on why people don't go to the 2nd notch?

For what its worth, my truck is stock weight up front, minus skids, and I chose 2nd notch. Why? It yields a little more lift than 1st notch. I anticipate adding weight to the front, so now I don't have to mess with it after that added weight. The downfall? Its obviously a little more stiff since its under more preload without the added weight to absorb as it was designed. All that being said, I'm happy with the way it rides on notch 2, I'm happy with the lift height, and I'm happy to answer questions.

The only dumb question is the question that isn't asked. The only dumb question on the internet is any question ever asked.

Thank you for answering my question. I was more interested why they chose the first notch over the 2nd. Some people are just for looks and they want a higher lift and don't really care about their ride being stiff.
And yes, apologies I probably didn't ask the question in the right way. I guess you have to be more specific with some people or you get chewed out.

Not sure what the start of your post says but I'm on stock UCA's on the first notch. Everything is good so far.
