Got to say that this thread has proved incredibly valuable. Thx to all for the posts! I have my parts on order for my 2021 DCSB 4x4 SR and I would like to get this right the first time.

Eibach Pro kit - will set at second notch
    Wheelers aal 1.5”
    BFG 285/70/17 E rated
    TRD 4runner wheels 17” black

3 questions I’ve yet to iron out.
    1. Does every truck need to replace the driver cv axle needle bearing with a cv axle bushing to get rid of that low speed vibration?
    2. When adding the leaf to the rear, are you supposed to leave the overload in or remove?
    3. In correcting the notorious “lean” is all that is needed just a .25” top hat spacer on the driver side?

TIA, this is my 5th Tacoma and wifey says I have to keep it for a long time

    1. Does every truck need to replace the driver cv axle needle bearing with a cv axle bushing to get rid of that low speed vibration? Hit or miss, some people have a problem some do not. You will have to see how your truck responds to the lift.
    2. When adding the leaf to the rear, are you supposed to leave the overload in or remove? Typically it's removed.
    3. In correcting the notorious “lean” is all that is needed just a .25” top hat spacer on the driver side? Yes.

I just had this done with a shop installing it all, here's a run down of what I paid.

Eibach Stage 1 assembled on the first notch - $785
    Icon 1.5" AAL - $224.96
    ECGS Bushing w/Axle Seal - $99.35
    Shop Install & Alignment = $1199

    Total = $2308.31

Awesome. Thanks for the details Aqua. Extremely helpful. How are you feeling about your Icon AAL? Smooth ride? I'm got the Wheelers Single 1.5" AAL and wonder if I shouldn't have went for the Icon like you or how much of a difference it will make. Love the look of your ride. Did you have the overload leaf removed?

    Appreciate the advice.

Rides better than stock, absolutely loving it. I don't off road and did this for purely the looks, I know I could have gone the cheaper spacer/block route but wanted to do the lift right and I'm really glad I did. Been driving it daily for almost 2 weeks now and it's so smooth. And regarding the overload leaf - no idea. The shop didn't mention anything about it nor was there anything on my paperwork about it. So I would imagine they didn't remove it.

You've pretty much sold me on the Icon AAL. Have a product number for what you purchased? Thanks again for the replies.

If you do the ecgs “just in case” there’s no harm in that right?

I'm doing the same thing. Read a ton into it and figured I may as well replace it while lift is being installed instead of waiting until after the fact and it becoming a problem. More of a preventative measure than anything.

You should of considered the wheelers 3 leaf progressive aal instead of the single. Im running it with overload in and its been excellent. Planted over everything i throw at it.

Yep..wish I would have went for a progressive set. I don't have any additional weight in the back. I intend to leave the Eibach lift on lowest notch and either want to sit level or with little rake. Nothing nose up. Still want a smooth ride too. Progressive leaf will provide a smoother ride than single, right? May just have to suck up my single AAL purchase and get progressive if so. I want to do it right the first time.

I've never replaced the needle bearing on multiple lifted tacomas and never had an issue. Eibach coilovers set at 2" with new leaf pack. Add a leafs all suck no matter who makes them

Yeah but it's not exactly uncommon to have that issue. As a non-mechanical person, I wanted to have it all done at the same time.

Not criticizing, just been lucky I guess. May do it in the future if I keep this truck long term.

So I am looking at the shock setup. With stock springs what does the middle setting get you? 1-1.5" I am not looking for a 2" lift

This kit is not technically made to work with other springs. If you want to user stock spring you should look into Bilstein 5100 or others mean for stock springs.

So now I am confused about this Stage 1 lift. What does it actually give you? Bottom clip setting and stock weight DCAB truck. I am seeing replies in this thread a lift of 1.75-2.5" on a stock weight truck with the first clip setting. I thought it was only supposed to give 2"

Stoked on how this turned out.
    • Eibach set at 2nd notch measuring 2.75" after a month of driving on them
    • Icon AAL 1.5" in the rear
    • Method 17 703 titanium gloss
    • 285/70/17 K02's with no rubbing (tested on mild trail but haven't done anything significant yet)
    • Stock UCA's
    • ECGS bushing install (I had a slight vibration after installing lift. Put the ECGS bushing in and that eliminated vibration)
