Yeah its really strange how they are perfectly fine for some, and torched for others. Personally I've had a set swapped out by them, and had the same issue (one coilovers still made noise). Never heard back from them as they were using mine to diagnose the issue.

Shitty but it is what it is I guess. I wouldn't recommend people get the kit, save a little and get something better, or go with 5100s.

Glad you solved this....but I got tired of dealing with the bad clunk and horrible customer service from Eibach. I got some Fox coilovers a while back.

Good on you. Did you get refunded or anything, or did you have to eat the cost?

Ate the cost. I’m going to put them up for sale, once I get my truck back.

I couldn’t deal with it much longer. My wife wouldn’t want to ride in the truck with me, I’d be embarrassed giving friends rides in it. They had to go.

    Good stuff

did the same with my Fox 2.0s a while back. Was changing a CV one day and realized there was almost zero droop when I jacked the front up. Figured the Toytec top spacers would help get it more in range. Seems to have helped them out. Been about two years since.

Hope that was actually the issue, because there are plenty of people who have the stage 2 kit, and dont have the clunk issue, and then there are some who do... I had just assumed that those who had the clunk maybe had other issues like worn suspension components, or maybe did something wrong during install like not tightening the shock bolts while under load or something like that. I have the stage 2/2r kit on my '22 trd or, and have zero issues, and actually really like how they ride. I did do the 4 runner lower shock bolts during install, and I did put a 1/4" spacer on driver side coilover to correct the taco lean. My truck also only had around 2500 miles when I lifted it, so Im not sure if some or all of the factors listed is why I dont have the clunk. I also did not adjust the shocks, and installed at height out of box

And there are people in the same boat as you, new truck, perfect install, that had the issue. No answer or assistance, just silence

Thats how Eibach stated about my truck when I brought to them. They drove it around, put it on the lift, look over everything on my truck and just said, "you have worn out UCA/LCA bushings, your hood moves a lot, engine mounts are shot, your rear suspension hangers move, lots of noises coming from all over the truck". Excuse after excuse. They just replaced the front coilovers and sent me on my way but hey, I got a free shirt and hoodie for the time I wasted.

Like most have mentioned in the other post, the clunking started when the new suspension was installed. The stock suspension never gave me any issue before that.

Yup, mine only had 650 miles on it when I installed these.

Also, I love the wrench they send to adjust these things, good for about 1/2 turn before the pin snaps off!

    Update:

    Still no hard clunk/slam.

Something is squeaky tho, and my steering rack is torched. That will be the next project...

Just a heads up, I really don't recommend much more than 1.5-2" of lift from ANY coilover up front, custom tuned or custom valved, once you cross this threshold they all ride like shit. I know why the companies advertise 3" of lift, it sells products. People think 3" of lift and I can fit 35's or whatever but lift doesn't clear tires.

Your truck will ride substantially better the lower it is. Not to mention it makes aligning it easier, it will drive better on the road (things like bump steer get exponentially worse the more lifted it is).

You can't magically get any more downtravel out of a mid travel setup other than not lifting it so high.

Yes, the Eibach's top out harsher than others though. And seem to do it more frequently. I had mine set to 1.5" of lift with a 130lbs of bumper and winch up front and it drove pretty good on road. Had to go real slow off road to prevent them from topping out.

My Fox 2.5's still top out, it still makes bad noises, but it's probably 50% better than the Eibachs. It's taken a lot of pre-load adjustments and tire pressure adjustments to get them to ride "OK" off road.

Would also strongly advise you to get with a suspension company that you can talk to, describe the trails you run MOST of the time, and how fast you drive on said trails. Anyone who offers "custom valving" but doesn't ask you these questions should be avoided.

Well it's pretty much the limits of Toyota IFS. Nothing you can really do with a reasonable budget.

The biggest issue here is the topping out/harshness that these coils demonstrate, that others do not (at the same lift height).

As far as custom valving goes, are you insinuating anything regarding AccuTune, or just generally speaking?

Just in general, be sure you're getting your moneys worth out of custom valving. Sending shocks back and forth from one coast to another gets pricey quick. If you're paying for custom valving, see what your vendor will do for you if you're not happy with the ride once you get them installed. You have installation costs (even if you install yourself it's your time), alignment costs, shipping costs, potentially revalve costs, truck downtime costs, etc. It ads up quick if you care.

People on the east coast who ride on rough rooty/rocky trails at 5-10mph do absolutely not want the same valving as someone who is driving in the dessert in SOCAL at 40-60mph. There is no one size fits all valving stack for these trucks that just work on everything.

I've had stock OR suspension, I had Eibach Stage 2, and now I'm on Accutune'd Fox 2.5 DSC's. I've had stock leaf pack, stock leaf pack with a 1" block, Icon RXT leaf pack, and now on a custom set of Alcan's. I've made progress and learned from each setup, but it's also cost me a lot of money. I'm not done yet, I still think I can get this truck to ride a little better and still retain the mid-travel-ish setup.

How do you like AccTunes Fox Coilovers compared to everything else you have had?

Got out today with some sunny weather. I measure right on 25 inches from the centre line of hub to the fender at full drop out. And I have approximately 1 1/4" of thread between the bottom of the threads and the bottom of the adjustment nut.

    Essentially what I was at.

    What's your center hub-fender?

Was this measurment taken after it came down from the jack, or after it had been driven around and the spring settle. Anytime you jack the truck up (front end), it will initially sit about an inch taller until you drive it and let it settle.

25" is like 4" in the front of a 3rd gen. Its too much. Make sure you are measuring on level ground and not bending the tapemeasure too.

Unless u meant at droop, then disregard
