The leaf droop ends at almost exactly the same spot as the shocks.

I still need to cut off the emergency doughnuts on the shocks. I baked about a half an inch in to the bump stops before the shocks bottom out.

How much all in was the bender setup?

 

How do you like that U-bolt eliminator? I just won an Archive Garage shock relocation kit and now I'm looking up what I need from Ruffstuff to do a 63 swap at the same time.

 

So far, it's be good. Just need to make sure it's welded well to the axle because you don't have Ublots as a back up. I also chose to do both split washers and safety wire so I had an absolute mechanical connection so the bolts can't back out. With the truss in the back, I also had to make sure the bolts were short enough they didn't bottom out on the truss before they were tight.

And actually... I forgot, you'd also add 125 for the half sheet of 3/16 we cut the parts for the cart out of. So... actually, $1560

 

Adds up fast but that's a lot of value, a similar JD2 without a die set is 9/10s of that

 

Ya, I'm happy with the out come. I think it's pretty well set up to do work.
The trade off with Woodward is you only have 1 die radius to choose from in each size. But their dies are all set up with the radius at just over x3 of the tube diameter (which is the minimum for tech on race cages). JD has more than one radius in 1.75, or 1.5, etc.

Dies are also what makes these things expensive. I'll still want to get a 1 inch, 1.5 and 2 inch die... at $350-450 each (for those considering a bender, that's something to think about)

 

Gonna have to swing by for some tube bending! I'm not ready to buy my own yet

 

It's pretty much ready to go. 1.75 tube diameter die is what I have. That's the size you'd need for most stuff. It's what tube bumpers, sliders etc are made out of.

The smaller diameters will be for shock hoops and stuff.

 

I might be bending some shit on Sunday. Depends on weather and what Jen has planned for the weekend.

I want to get some template bends done, and then I want to start rebuilding the swing out.

I'm working up a new bumper for someone and I'll be adding a swingout to it

Could be an opportunity to add a gas can holder as well if he wants

Nice thing is, the rear is far quicker to replace things on than the Tacoma although neither are difficult at all by any means.
