Those springs might heat up a bit better if you can find somewhere to keep them in direct sunlight. Its working out decently for my bumper. I got tired of trying to heat it up with the electric heaters

 

Unfortunately there is no direct sunlight today.

 

If your parts are still in the kitchen, why not put it in the oven.. Would love to hear what the wifey says on that.

Alcans are installed. Wow, what a difference. This should fix my ride height issue 100%

Don't know how they ride yet. Have too much taken apart to drive it tonight.

The ride height issue was the Expos sagged too much with my weight. I also never liked the fact the second spring didn't meet the main spring eye. THAT is where they sagged the most.



From unloaded to loaded with what I carry normally... Roof top tent and rack, tools, tool boxes... the weight dropped the rear 4 inches.

For someone who doesn't carry much weight, these are probably great. But my load out weight is close to 6K. The Expos weren't enough.

Yea I'm sure the Alcans will do the trick for you. Mostly curious about the ride height with the 4" spec.

I've had a similar experience with my Dakars. Don't drop too much loaded, but would blow through all the travel at any bump in the road when loaded down. 6k would def be too much for them though. I'm 5160 loaded. I've got a set of alcans on order to replace them

With the tent, the awning, and the Hi Lift... AND 410 pounds of concrete in the bed.

5 inches of available up travel with that load.

THAT is where I wanted to be.

Still haven't driven it yet lol. As soon as I got the leafs done, and readjusted my coilovers... I started wiring lights until it got dark.

65 mile round trip to and from work tomorrow. Hopefully I don't hate it.

Do you normally keep the tent and other stuff mounted for DD duty?

 

I normally keep everything in/on the truck other than 3 plastic totes with the actual camping stuff.

These things are BAD ASS. Smooth ride, took away almost all of the rest of the body roll. Feels more solid on the road. The truck felt GREAT. I think this solved all my problems in the back.
