Got any pics of the Daves ORS triple sticks? I haven't been very impressed with the RAD ones so far.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Ya, Front Range quoted me $350+ on shipping. But that may have been factoring in the weight of the 3rd member.

I am starting to consider having them build the housing with the flanges and do the D-rotor kit. I want to do some more investigating and see if I could possibly trim the Ruff Stuff truss to fit the Diamond housing. (I may be bing nit picky with that, but if I'm going to spend a few grand on an axle, by god, I want an f'n truss )

100% for sure will be full float. I'm done doing the rear axle bearing replacements every year. My truck weighs A LOT.

Ah ya a third member makes sense why it would be higher. Those are heavy SOBs.

I looked into a ruffstuff one and a TG builder housing, but didn't want to go through the hassle of cutting the housing and possibly messing it up. Not to mention welding the ends on correctly.

3/8" wall 3.5 tubing is way more than enough beef and adding a truss will just be adding more weight with not much benefit other than looks I guess.

Any idea what it weighs these days?

Dave's offroad performance, my bad. Not Dave ORS.

I don't have any pictures but a buddy of my had Dave's triple stick in his tacoma years ago. I like his designed more than RAD. No major deformation of the tunnel needed because it's designed with tight clearance in mind.

Picture shown is for an rf1a.

Can't say for others but I would guesstimate my rear 9.5 diamond axle fully dress weighs every bit over 250lbs. The front weights more for sure because of the knuckles etc.

I think Ian was asking much my fat assed truck weighs nowadays.

It's been 2 years since I weighed it. Loaded, with me in it, it was right at 6,000 pounds. My tent rack is quite a bit lighter now, between changing to soft shackles, lightening and deleting of tools etc I saved another 100 or so pounds... and I've lost about 20 pounds lol

But, I've also gone to 315s, added a bed platform, and more armor...

I'd still say, loaded for a trip, I'm probably still pushing 6K

Hm ya I like the design, but they both have their tradeoffs.
Def better vertical clearance on the rear case shifter

Lol... only grade I've ever, really, had a problem was Sonora Pass... that's something like 26% but that was before I was 5.29.

I made it, but it was slow, and the motor sounded like I was trying to race at Indianapolis lmfao.

Hell... It's not just Sierra grades. That big sexy bitch has been through Southern Utah, through Moab, to Colorado Springs, down through NM, and AZ.

    Go 8-lug! Options are limitless.

Unless you go with a curry 9” then they’re literally limitless.

    I’ve got a 14 bolt I’m willing to part with :D

Also I’m no help with custom axle stuff. I’m more of a junk yard axle make it work fabricator… and leaf springs.

One thing is for sure. There will be lessons to be learned in this thread this winter.

I'll be giving a master class on how to make stupid financial decisions on a 20 year old truck.

Ok... so maybe if I post the plan for the weekend, I'll be less likely to decide to be lazy and not do the plan for this weekend.

    Remove front driveline
    Body Lift
Work out why my head unit doesn't seem to want to work right
Fix power leads to Aux battery, check solenoid

    Oil change
    Check fluid level in Tcase
