    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

LOL... I was thinking that keeping 4 would be too heavy.

But, I'm just taking a stab in the dark here. There's different spring rates and thicknesses of 63s. These seem on the stiff side. But we'll see.

I guess if the individual leafs are the same thickness as mine it might not be stiff enough, if they're thicker it very well could be. Guess we're gonna find out.

Thickness... and also how much distance there is between the ends of the leafs.

Not sure how spread apart the ends of your leafs are, but I see a lot of 63 leaf packs with 4 or so inches.

    Like these

Mine only have about 2 inches

(PS... for future people that will see the pic above... I know the leaf pads are upside down. I realized it as soon as I picked up the leaf springs... it's fixed ) (Been a long day... bending over to wire wheel those things will kill your back... for the record)

@Speedytech7 I think you are running 12 inch shocks with your 63s.

How much of a pain in the ass do you think it would be to run 14s.

I'll be running outboard almost exactly like @cbechtold (which I guess I could also ask him his thoughts on 14s too lol)

Doable, but 14s on Chevy 63s are about as big as you can go. 12s are a little easier to package. I'm on stock geometry leaf springs so 12s are literally the max length for what I'm running, but I've got a fix for that that'll likely go in this winter or next. Just depends on when I have time.

Right on, thank you! Gives me some things to think about.

How close are you to the shock at full stuff? Is there room for 2.5 bypass shocks?

I'd say 14 outboard is gonna be damn near the max and the sweetspot. 12 is probably more realistic for straight droop but 14 is easily doable in articulation so I'd still shoot for 14s personally. I have 12s under the bed and it's pushing it.

I've got a ton of room between the frame and the tire at full articulation, but I am running just a 2.0 piggypack. I don't know exact measurements, but I've seen people run Chevy 63s or SOA F67s and 14" bypasses on 40s with a little bit of room to spare.

Finally decided to investigate this compressor outlet the previous home owner put in.

Made some progress on the disaster in my garage too.

    20230930_112348.jpg 20230930_184946.jpg

Hoping to finish the garage off tomorrow.

Trying to get the garage set to house the truck for the winter projects.

Received the fuel tank and evap relocation kits in the mail from @eimkeith the other day. Hopefully that will be on the list of accomplishments for this weekend.

Need to get the truck weighed tomorrow before I start pulling the tent, racks, boxes, and bed off. I'll get it weighed again after I strip it down, to get an idea of how much to weigh it down while cycling the 63s for bump and ride height.

Made some progress today. Getting things out of the way for tomorrow's projects.

    20231006_194838.jpg

Should have seen my old ass taking the roof top tent off by myself.

    :anonymous:

I've got it ready for the RTT rack to come off, and just need to snip a couple wires so we can take the bed off. And then party time.
