El Taco Diablo... Mall Crawlin, now with LT for tall curbs

ok, so you know that the EVAP plate goes like this (with the 2 clamps to secure the canister):




Then, this little squiggly bracket goes under the cross-member and uses the factory pin to secure it in place; to relocate the hoses:
(looks like I plug-welded it through the top of the cross-member here)









and the front tank mount - you can use the factory mount as a tool to weld the nuts in place:





it's been a few years since I did mine, but I bet 305mm is from the inside wall of the frame to the edge of the front mount (see the scribed line in the photo?)

 

this is the tab for the tank strap:





- just burn it on and cut the old top off.

 

also, do you have access to a 3D printer? I have some cut-templates for the bed notches in .STL form - although not sure they correlate with the DC bed reinforcements; haven't been able to compare them to the EC bed yet...

Gas tank at the frame is going to be awesome.

This modification needs a 1 inch body lift for sure. Would have taken an awful lot of remodeling without it.

 

thats for closing a notch in the bed reinforcement on the extracab - may/may not be needed on the DC depending on where the bed reinforcements are.

 

Got another crossmember built and mounted.



Mounted the transmission cooler.

 

Welded 1/4 end plates on the winch cradle for the rear winch.

And cut the reciever hitch out of the rear bumper.

 

Do you mind sharing the measurements of the front spring hanger...this may be a winter project coming up and it would be nice to have some more info on it.

 

More work on the rear winch today.

Made the plates that the rear mount will weld to. (This will be a bolt in winch cradle.)



I reinforced the outside of the frame as well.



Cut the hit reciever out of the rear bumper. The cut a slot for the fairlead for the rear winch. And boxed it in.

@Dalandser you seem to be the one that finds the LT deals.

Can you keep an eye out for Fox 2.5 triples, 14 inch? If you see a set, let me know. I'll buy new fro Accutune when I'm ready if needed. But hoping to save a couple $$

 

I only see 2 tubes but could be behind the reservoir. Probably offer $1100 and see if he negotiates at all with you.

 

Those aren't triple. The tube pointing down on the left, the tube pointing up on the right... one of them should have 2 tubes next to each other for it to be triples.

 

Yeah what I was thinking - oh well I’ll keep an eye out for ya!
