How well does it engage the wheels, no movement when pushing the vehicle or on an incline?

It stops the wheels. Truck still isn't drivable, so not fully tested.

I don't like how they return. But it's a work in progress.

Got to within .7 miles of the smog shop Wednesday with no check engine light. (I'm not joking, it was .7 miles away). I could see the shop... aaaaaaannnnd.... Check Engine light came back on.

This time it's the Transmission Temperature Sensor malfunction.

    Fuck smog :frusty:

Ordered the new sensor took till yesterday for it to come in.

Replaced the trans temp sensor today. That was a pain in the ass. Had to remove one of the hardline elbows as well as the front O2 sensor, and trans skid plate, to get to it.

Did a little drain and fill while I was at it. Figured I could avoid having it drain out the sensor hole on me. Also gave me a chance to check the condition of the ATF (it is good). And also gives a bit of fresh new ATF to keep things happy in the automagic box.

Was hoping to take it in for smog, but I had to clear the P0710 code. Now I have to wait until the system clears all the tests before I can take it in. We burned 1/3 of a tank of gas. Got all but the last 2 tests ready. Hopefully if I drive it again tomorrow, it'll be ready to smog.

We also ran the rear locker wire up to the engine compartment and got it zip tied all up put of the way of everything before it started raining on us.

I bet those shafts are weaker than stock Toyota shafts with the neck down Dutchman put into them. That's normal on stock style Dana shafts but not Toyota's.

Most chromo Toyota axles have the splines cut into the same OD shaft as the OD of the splines like this picture.

So... I got the truck smogged. It passed. Drove it 70 mles to get the monitors ready for smog. So I drove around aimlessly for a couple hours and burned a bunch of fuel... but I digress.

Then... I went to AAA. The answer to the previous conversation, for the record, is... no, they can't give me a sticker.

The useless fucking halfwits at DMV can't give me a sticker either.

Because I paid my registration on time and then got my smog... I have to wait for them to arrive in the mail.

I swear, you'll see me on the news if I get pulled over for expired tags.
