I'd call up Solo and maybe Deaver - worst that happens is a couple other opinions get aired.

Going to reach here Matt but I get the feeling that you are one who lives by 'Do it RIGHT the FIRST TIME'... you wouldn't go the cheap route, so going mid or LT is going to be pricey and time consuming (at least from what I have read).

I vote leave El Taco Diablo the way it is now. Instead of dropping the coin on the suspension, next project should be a utility trailer. Move the RTT to the trailer and build it out from there -

I've talked to Solo... I'm pretty much sold on them (as a Company) the dude I talked to was cool as hell.

I've thought about calling up Alcan or Deaver (or both) but I need to get some weight numbers together on what my curb weight was and what it is now day to day... and what my load out # is.

My bad the rear is what I was mentioning talking to Solo about - they've done a lot of Tacos.

I'll definately call them back sometime, and see if I can pick their brains about some of this.

@MattJakobs one thing to keep in mind about the Solo stock length LCAs. You may want to ask @Blackdawg about them. He runs them on one of his trucks.

I'm kind of curious about what he has to say (or will have to say) after he figures out what's going on with the set he has.

I’ve been running them for about 7 months, or 8,000 miles, with no problems.

edit: what’s the one thing to keep in mind?

    Yes and no.

I’m hoping that I get a longer lifespan out of tie rods, steering rack, and things like that. Plus I’m hoping for less breaking CV axles.

I do think that this set up will ultimately be easier to set up too. Coilovers have less stroke length and are more of an off the shelf thing. Besides built lowers and spindles, I’ll essentially be running the same thing as any other mid travel set up (i.e. the set up I’ve been running for a few years now and I know what’s involved in maintaining it).

I know the maintenance of the uniballs, bushings, and coilovers will be about the same though.

IDK it's not the length of the arms, but the setup and how it's used for breakage. Nothing inherently breaks more if you don't beat on it. If having more travel makes someone have a heavier foot and forget how to wheel, then yeah, but not just by installing it. More guys break stock length cv's since they are into wheeling rather than going fast, but a properly bumped and strapped axle wouldn't break any more easily than stock. It's only a first gen Tundra cv...

He may have had a problem with them. He isn't sure yet (or wasn't last time I talked to him about it).

He's not wanting to say anything definate until he knows for sure. Which I completely respect.
