I have searched several forums for complete details of the Electric ADD system in the front of my 2003 double cab Tacoma.
What I am looking for is a mod to engage the disconnect and keep it engaged using the existing electric mechanism. My major cncern is will this damage the ECU?
I would like this to ease 4WD engagement in extreme cold. At extreme temps the engagement of transfer case was difficult since syncho for from axle engagement does not work well at very low temps. My previous 97 Tacoma had vacuum and I just rerouted the hoses for winter. Then the front driveshaft is always turning and the synchro does not need to work and engagement is relatively easy.
Fuel economy is not a concern runs 20 miles daily or less.
