sooo im thinking about doing a exhaust cut out. I love having my truck quiet and nice but sometimes at about midnight on a friday night me and my buddies wanna be jackasses rilling around town which usually ends up with unbolting my exhaust at the muffler flange. thinking about just welding in a electric cut out instead.

Cool idea, bruh. Nothing is cooler than making your shitty sounding V6 as loud as possible late at night.

I'm all aboard the "it's your truck, do what you want, it's not my problem it looks/performs like shit" train. However, when your shitty taste in mods is strictly for the purpose of being annoying to other people, then I have a problem with it.

Street/Strip car with a big lope cam - yes.

    V6 truck - nope.

Uhh, you might want to reconsider welding it in. Once you get pulled over and issued a ticket, you'll probably also have to get it inspected...

I put dual electric cutouts on my old C3 Corvette, the built 5.7L sounded SO good.

Just a heads up: they're prone to leaking no matter what brand. It gets to be a pain after awhile. And the V6 will sound like crap. BUT you can always just weld it back shut after you have your fun, so do what you want!

I share your point of view. Sounds horrible and annoys the hell out of people late at night. Like I said I’m just here for the shitshow

Yes, they all leak after a time.
Yes, we were (most) all of us jackasses at one time.

    BUT

engines were almost all V8's back then. Still pissed everyone off but at least ah, what the hell. Just know if you ever want to sell it, and somebody sees that crap under there....it's bargaining time. I get the feeling it'll be the lesser of it's problems by then though.

I put more mild mufflers on my V8 so the neighbors wouldn't hate me pulling in late at night. Then out on the road would open the butterfly valves as needed... made ppl duck for cover sometimes. TBH it was my favorite thing I did to that car. But again, yeah, V8 ≠ V6
