Your arguments always seem to devolve into wierd delusions. First it was huffing farts, then cutting off balls, now it’s about some misguided worship. That’s called projection and only shows what’s going on in your head not anyone else’s. It doesn’t get you taken seriously, it gets you written off as a whack job.

I would agree that Tesla’s are ugly, and the truck is, well, really fucking ugly. But so is the Prius. It’s almost as if they are marketed to people that actually hate cars.

Not much different from a golf cart in that arena either. Might as well say all the Taco mods shown in this forum are equally meh since they don’t shine either in a parking lot. Punch it on an on-ramp though and just try to keep a straight face, lol.

Truck is 1/10 don't recall for the boat but its 31 inches long and fiberglass (35+ mph).

Been a long time but I think it did come with a little driver that has been long since lost. We used to pull people around on rollerblades with this thing. First gear is a tq monster.

The Prius was intentional design choices though. At the time it was released, the Prius had the lowest drag coefficient of any production vehicle (or any vehicle of its class? I forget)

I have a love-hate relationship with the Model Y. From some angles I find it absolutely beautiful. From others it's like looking at a Pontiac Aztec. Hate the gullwing doors, though. However, celebration mode is the shit. The truck, though. Yeah, hideous. Not a fan of the Model 3 either. Model S looks like a sports sedan, nothing offensive, but it's just fine.

Then we have much to look forward to as companies with a better grasp of aesthetics get involved. Car styling changes and there have been any number of ugly ducklings over the years along with more inspired models. I think the Tesla is reminiscent of the Avanti but it doesn’t blow me away on looks.

I’m not sure how to say this, but I think you’re too polarized man. No one in this thread is saying that shit. This is a Toyota forum talking about new electric Tacos. You are the one making this about Musk at this point.

I’d guess a substantial portion of folks in this thread don’t like Musk (myself included). We aren’t drinking the kool-aid and we are not whatever people you’re describing (I’ve never met any folks like that in real life, btw…). Maybe you’re spending too much time on the internet and the pro-musk trolls have gotten to you.

We all know he’s using hype to build revenue (and investment in his companies). That doesn’t make Tesla/space-X/other things in the portfolio automatically garbage. That’s also not different from other companies. Stocks & investment in corporations are based on feelings that it’s going to be a good product. It’s fundraising man.

I don’t doubt that’s true. And I won’t dispute that Tesla fans are cult like . And and ... there are def quality control issues.

but , step back and think . Would you accept a door handle issue on your new car which goes 0-60 faster than most sports cars , never ever needs fuel , maintenance ,service , is the safest car ever crash tested , can drive it self better than anything else’s out there and , has dog mode !? Uhhhh ya Ill take a busted handle if it meant no more gas pump , oil change , slow ass car , no transmission to worry about or smog check to or loud exhaust or filing your garage up with fumes and CO gas or waiting in traffic with the engine on idling or not being able to valet your car with no one inside or ....

That’s like ordering a nice steak and saying is terrible cuz it came with peas / carrots instead of sautéed mushrooms . Ya it’s better to eat Taco Bell instead cuz at least there are no QC issues. Yup good ol familiar crunchy taco over steak . Can’t mess that up. You are guaranteed to get diarrhea every time ....

I look forward to owning a PHEV Tacoma that I can legally drive in the HOV lane and pass the huge line of cars that I have to sit in on my way home from work every week day. Maybe time saved there would be happily spent at a charging station?

I probably won’t be in line for the first model year either. Though Toyota does have its hybrid tech pretty well sorted.

I have a hybrid Highlander that I love, but the hybrid version means the vehicle takes a big step down in terms of towing capacity. Hopefully this issue can be avoided with a proper truck.

And Toyota, Ford,VW + every other manufacture in the world is about to do that. Contrary to the Church of Musk they have been pouring billions into R&D for years and unlike the Cybertruck have mules, test vehicles. In Rivian's case they already have fleet deals coming. My original criticism of our lord and savior Tesla/Elon is that they can not match scale despite being an 18+ year old "new company". There is blood in the water now.

Oh my! Someone made sophomoric cracks on a truck forum making fun of the cult worship of a car company! We can't let people make fun of how we worship our daddy Elon!

I heard that most of the money in Tesla’s automotive division doesn’t come from the sales of their vehicles, but from the payment of other auto manufacturers that aren’t meeting the quantity of ev vehicles manufactured or sold.
