While replacing my upper control arms I noticed this loose connector on the passenger side. Anyone know what is goes to? it’s seemingly too short to connect to anything I can see, My best guess was to the O2 sensor, but I feel like It would’ve already caused me problems if it were that.

first two pics are from the passenger wheel well, last one if top view, it sits in the wire loom below the power steering pump.

Wire color would help determine for sure but it looks like the connector for the power steering pressure switch or A/C compressor.

Thank you, I was looking at the diagram here, but the power steering threw me off because of the orientation on the diagram.
you are right, it appears to be just that, yellow wired, and unfortunately I think it may be broken at the pump connector as you can see in this picture. 8 wonder why it hasn’t popped a code or something?
I just replaced the steering rack with an oem unit and was going to flush the power steering pump next, do you think I should be overly concerned about repairing this as well?

I don't believe there's any logic to set a code for the power steering switch being open as that's it's normal state, it's only job is to tell the ECM to increase idle speed during low speed turning when there is increased line pressure on the steering system.

While it's not an essential part since it's already broken it may be a good idea to replace it since it may start leaking or blow out completely along with all the steering fluid.

well that is very enlightening, I honestly didn’t know there was an electronic connection for the power steering before this, so I’ve learned something new. I will see about replacing this since I’m pulling the reservoir anyways. Thanks!

Mine was leaking from the o-ring on the sensor itself. I was curious to know has anyone converted to Electronic Power Steering?
