So I do not have a lot of time right now to do research and I definitely need to take care of this problem as soon as possible so I can drive at night. Just wanted to post to get collective thoughts on what might be going on so I can trouble shoot as soon as I get off work and hopefully get this issue solved before dark. I will go through the sequence of events of how this problem came about because I have done a few things that I believe may be causing the issue.

I recently replaced my heater core and everything worked perfectly afterwards. Heat, A/C, all lights, 4WD, Rear Diff Lock, flashers, etc. However I never had a working light underneath the automatic shifter since I bought the truck. So I decided to take that bulb out and replace it with an amber LED. When I plugged the LED in and keyed the truck on the amber LED shifter light still did not work so I decided to get my voltmeter out and check if it was getting voltage. However, being a dumbass I grounded the black cable first and then touched the positive to the light socket so it sparked. At that point I was wondering if I blew a fuse, but I continued with trying to check the voltage but got nothing. So I kind of gave up at that point because I had somewhere I had to be and put everything back together. What I did not know was that LEDs have polarity? So, wondering if the reason the LED did not work in the first place was because it was the wrong direction..

I noticed that night that my dash cluster lights and lights behind my A/C were not working. I also noticed the tail lights are no longer working. So brake lights and reverse lights work but not tail lights. I just installed new JDM Astar LEDs for the reverse lights and they work great, so I do not think that has anything to do with this. I also had license plate lights that were out and tried replacing those with LED lights, but they are also not lighting up. So in summary, I have no dash lights or tail lights anymore and I'm trying to figure out what went wrong in all of this.

I checked the 10 amp fuse on the inside panel that is labeled "Gauge" and it looked okay. I replaced it with a new one just in case, still no lights. Trying to think of things I should check next or where to begin chasing down this electrical problem? I'm thinking I need to check my tail light fuse? If that is blown though, would it cause the instrument cluster to not work? I wouldn't think so?

Any help is appreciated. Let me know what you all think.

    Check taillight fuse.
The gauge fuse powers the gauges, not the dash lights. Quite a few vehicles use the same fuse for taillights and dash lights.

It was the 10amp tail fuse! So simple. Only problem I'm having now is my dome light when set on "door" mode only lights up when the truck is keyed on. So if key is in ignition and on to accessory or truck is running and the door is opened it lights up, but if the truck is shut off, and keyed off as soon as the door opens the light turns off. It used to stay on until locked, and would also light up when I walk up to the truck, unlock it and open the door.
