so, started happening last week. Every time I have my headlights on and I turn my blinkers on, all the lights shut off. Anyone know why they would do that?

Sounds like you have a short somewhere? Maybe something going on with the stalk on the steering column.

Would it be cheaper for me to replace the wiring harness in there or take it to a shop?

Sounds like the problem is in the turn signal / headlight switch stalk.

have you ever replaced a stalk, and if so, how difficult is it? Im not too fond of solving electrical issues

Replacing the stalk is pretty simple. Unhook the battery (working near airbag connections. the yellow ones) Remove the knee bolster and covers around steering column. There is 2 screws behind steering wheel that you can access by turning the wheel 90 degrees. Should have a few screws that holds the whole switch on and some electrical plugs to unhook.

damn tough to diagnose electric over the internet... there is a integrated relay panel just above your left foot when driving and almost everything seems to go through it. Without a diagram, a tester and paitence you are just fumbling around and getting frustrated.

When you're not moving with lights on start jiggling the column around. I also bet it's in the stalk. Probably a wire rubbed loose or a contact somewhere. Once you take the covers off it's fairly simple to see what's going on. Just go for it!
