    Yes, you stick the wire in there and bolt down, clamping it, per se.

    Before the cable is stuck in I used acid core solder to tin the end. This fills all cavities with solder and creates a stiff/rigid cable end. Once it is inserted then the set bolt is tightened down to secure it. I have had mine set up this way with dual batteries for around 2 years now. Even with heavy offroading and such I haven't had any electrical issues at all with my truck, the 1000 watt sub amp, or my winch.

    That being said, if you want the ends to have ring terminals on the end at the battery I can do that, adjusting the price of the kit for no digital terminals, but to be honest it's not a big difference in price.

    I don't doubt they are solid connections I'm just looking to get military terminals for my purposes. I'm still thinking about what route I want to go for sure. I do dig the voltage readout.

    Out of curiosity why acid-core solder? Everything I've read recommends acid-free rosin core for electronics due to corrosion.

    I prefer acid core because it does etch the copper slightly for a better bond. I consider it the difference between painting over an existing paint job after cleaning (rosin core solder) versus sanding the body down a little first before painting (acid core)

    Ramon, I was thinking if it wasn't that difficult could you go back to your opening post with the name list and add next to their names an abbreviation of what they want to get. It will make things easier for me as we go so that I can have a general idea of materials. Some of the stuff I want to pre-order. If it is too much trouble let me know.

    @BamaToy1997
    is the welding cable rated to withstand the chemicals is could come in contact with in an engine bay. oils, brake fluid, radiator fluid...
    its unlikely the cables would get soaked, but if i was working on my brakes and spilled some fluid would the cable possibly fail?

    They are capable of withstanding the same as automotive grade cables. Same insulation type.

    As I recall EPDM coatings do all of the above protections.

    If your concerned with getting any fluids on the wire you can alway buy some split wire loom to protect the it. I thinks it's $5 for 10ft plus tape.

    The vendor/distributor does not have a design for V8 4runners..

    If anyone near Navarre, Florida has a V8 4runner, he is willing to make you a deal if you provide your truck as a guinea pig..

    :)
