    The Bic for the win.

More control, usually within reach, cheap and can get them anywhere.

A quality heat gun provides a better result than any flame heat.

I understand cordless is nice if it’s a regular occurrence, but personally I wouldn’t have a time I need to use one with out an outlet nearby, but again that’s just me. My $15 harbor freight heat gun has been all it needs to be. I also use it for bending pvc, or custom plastic guards like a chain guard.

Weller makes wonderful stuff, I have one of their soldering irons, digital readout, hits 700+ in about 15 seconds.

I've got one of these little guys and it works great for tight spots as well as general use. It is a lower wattage/heat output so it doesn't shrink quite as fast as my Wagner that is 1200w but you also don't have to worry about melting other sensitive components around the work area if you are on the vehicle. Though for really tight areas you can't deny a simple BIC lighter works very nice!

If that one ever craps out I will likely get this smaller Wagner heat gun.

Also, this is a handy little flexible lighter. It has a blue flame like many of the butane lighters/torches and it's refillable!
