Yeah. I thought about stripping it out complelelty. But the wife takes it to work one day in a snow storm. Then she will probably wrap it around a god damn tree. I’ve def contemplated it both ways.

you guys have to remember I’m not trying to make a rock crawling monster. The Dana 60 is because of the weight and towing and having 35s. It’s just never going to die. Yeah it’s fucking over kill. And that’s the point. I have 30k to build something pretty bad ass. Like I said before. I don’t need some exspensive truck that has shit components that are going to die in 20years. It’s a rat race I’m just going to build. It’s not nesacerally about the IFS needing to be robust as it is about it being able to function well on the road and handle well. And with tacoma. The weight range is right for the vehicle and I can get bad as suspension components.

Don’t have the fire truck. This was a picture from the day I found the D2. It now sits at my house. Getting ready to start rebuilding doors and getting ready for paint.

Best option is to put an FJ case in there create a harness to actuate the add manually. Or you can delete it all together. The threads previously mention are very goo at explaining that. If you look at the link in my signature it will show you some about the FJ tcase and actuator. I have one in my truck.

So you’re building a one-off Frankenstein monstrosity in the interests of daily driving reliability??

like I said, this will never happen.

Dude seriously? If you don't have anything positive or constructive to add to the discussion, coming in here and shitting all over a new member looking for information helps no one.

Well I went down that rabbit whole. Because the nv3500 and rugged fucking frame. But the ifs sucks. They just don’t handle. The easiest thing todo is use a rubicon chassis. But I hate jeeps. And I don’t need straight axle durability. Never going to rock crawl it. Will be a trail machine but not that kind.

I wouldn’t use the Tacoma frame because of its tendency to rust.

This one is brand new in 2019. Not a spec of rust. I’m going to beefing up the frame anyways. Blasting and painting it my self with maybe a Marlene grade paint or something.

This I whole heartedly agree with. My goal was to see if ECGS stuff would be able to strengthen it. I was going to swap it all out for 4:88. But it’s been my biggest fear for sure!!!

I’m just using it as a base for the vehicle. I have to put something under it.
