oh, if it doesnt want to go through relatively smoothly, you may have too much cotton. and same if it goes in too smooth, not enough. too much cotton also gives more cotton flavor. it usually goes away after you rejuice 3-4 times.

Thanks, Is it the dimension of the coil or the tightness of the coil that determines the ohm? Is it OK to have gaps in the coil or do you want them all presses against each other?

dont use that braided crap they send you. its more than likely chinese silica. use the cotton. yes all coils need to be touching. the diameter does change the ohms. look up youtube man lol.

Thanks for the links. I just rebuilt (before watching) and got .2 ohm off 2 - 4 wrap and the ipv2 won't fire duu to low resistance lmao :homer:

All coils do NOT need to be touching to still have a functioning coil that fires properly. I stopped building compressed coils a while back because of how quickly the crust from old juice builds up on them. I run open macro coils and I can get 2 weeks out of them before I have to change cotton and dry fire them clean.

Resistance is mostly based on the mass of metal between the pos and neg posts. That's why the various gauges of that wire are rated by ohms per inch/cm or ohms per foot/meter. However, bends in the wire create additional resistance just from putting stress on the metal by curving it. Wrap your coils with known-diameter items such as drill bits or those micro screwdrivers that come in a set with the diameter labeled on them, and you'll have good consistency from one build to the next. The length of the posts you leave behind on your coils will also affect your resistance results. I use the micro screwdrivers to wrap mine, since I already have them out to use on the screw posts of my tanks.

Using organic or Japanese cotton is your best option. Be aware that Japanese cotton will break down a little faster than processed organic cotton will, and it's less "spongy". I find that my wicks will start to degrade around some of my coil ribs after a couple days, allowing the coil wire to be not as tightly fit against the cotton and this causes hot spots. Just keep an eye on your coils if you start tasting odd flavors when your cotton isn't totally dry yet. I just pull my wick a little bit through the coil so the coil ribs are heating up against a new spot of cotton. I stopped using organic cotton because I didn't like the taste of it after using true Japanese cotton pads. Great stuff.

 Thanks. I have a coil jig and I ordered a coil master off Amazon. :notsure: That should help I think. I have it set up now with 2 - 6 wrap coils reading .47 ohm. It works but spits and pops a lot

Spitting/popping is going to happen especially with a really wet wick.

Nope. You're instantly boiling fluid, so the popping is the instant creation of small steam bubbles that splatter. Unavoidable unless you run your wicks nearly dry all the time.

    Hey guys....

Thought I might throw this out there but a buddy of mine is closing his vapor store, and is planning on selling off the inventory for pretty cheap. Let me know if you are in the market for anything and I will see what I can do. PM works best.

PS - Vaping has literally saved my life and my health, even though I'm not big into the mods and chasing clouds. No smokes for me in over two years now.

I recently switched over to e-cigs. I used to smoke cigarettes and cigars fairly frequently, which was starting to affect my health. I tried to stop flat out, but that didn't work. The gum was gross and I didn't like the patches. I figured e-cigs would be a good way to cut out many of the nasty chemicals I was inhaling and still "trick" my brain into thinking I was still smoking since the sensation is similar.

I used a the Blu Plus rechargeable pack, mainly because I can get the cartridges at almost any gas station, which makes it convenient. I've been just using the classic tobacco flavor but I'm thinking about maybe trying the vanilla to see how I like it.

Good news is since switching I haven't touched a regular cigarette or cigar.
