WICHITA, Kan. -- A Wichita man says he and his family are lucky after his e-cig explodes and pieces of it pierce through walls.

Jonathan Reser says his soon-to-be wife wanted him to stop smoking traditional cigarettes. He purchased an e-cigarette from a store near downtown Wichita.

Reser says he followed the manufactures guidelines on his e-cig, which he says cost around $112.00.

"I went charge the battery and went to put it into my e-cigarette, I heard a sizzling like it was hitting and I hadn't pushed the button yet. I was on my way to listen to it and when I went to listen to it, it just went bam, like a bullet," Reser said.

Just a bunch of old crap
I'm always curious as to which EXACT devices these people are using. Yes, lithium ion batteries are volatile and can go into runaway if fired too long or if shorted and fired. With so many cheap designs out there, or ones that aren't ventilated, there are bound to be incidents. Always use top quality batteries in your ecigs, folks. Use proper charging equipment that cuts off after a full charge.

Look at the sub-ohm rigs, such as a Freemax Starre.

Awesome dude, one of my coworkers has the evic and loves it, I use the kanger and build my own coils and I haven't bought a coil in forever. Temp control is a game changer.

The news media has fucked with everyone's heads.
First it was dangerous doberman. The 5 years later it was rottweiler. few years later, pit bulls.
Now 2015 and 2016 ecigs!! I love it when I'm sitting there vaping and someone comes up with some stupid story of how they seen these things blow up..... or know someone that has it blown up in their face. I'll just sit there and laugh, continue vaping. Then laugh some more.

Well, It's been a few weeks Since I've vaped and I'm considering selling my stuff. IPV2 mini, Doge Competition Atty, Aspire Atlantis, Aspire sub Ohm mod, Aspire Nautilus mini, lot's of Japanese cotton, 20g, 22g wire. Coil making tools, Coil Ohm tester, lots of various juices.

Any interest? I'd rather sell it all as a package
