If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Well, I haven't smoked a ciggie since last Sunday and so far so good! Will (penguins_cc) gave me some other Juice to sample and also "sold" me on RBAs

I think once I burn through these coils (I have 10/ea. for my clearos), I will get into buiding my own coils, but I want to use these up first.

Also, not sure if it just needs to steep longer, but I think the 18mg Nic I have is too strong. It seems to burn my throat more than the 12mg Nic that Will gave me. His is a 50/50 PG/VG blend also, so that might have something to do with it, and he has also had his juice steeping for months as compared to mine that has only steeped for about 3 weeks.

So stoked to be "smoke-free" for this many days so far!

good job on not smoking man!! it takes a lot. im trying to get my mom to stop smoking too but she has been smoking for years.

as for the steeping. IIRC steeping is only for the flavor to settle in and get better. if its to harsh on your throat then go down in mg try out 12 or even 6.

when you get in to rda's i was told the throat hit is 3x more so it will seem a lot harsher IIRC

try out MT baker vapor. they have the cheapest stuff and they gove you free juice if you spend over 15 dollars!

Hitting an RBA is at least twice the warmth and throat hit of any carto or other tank I've used. I only vape 12mg and it hits like my 24mg used to, but warmer. My juices are all 50/50 pg/vg now, because I like big clouds from the VG. I don't care about throat hit anymore, just flavor and big vape.

Check out Tasty Vapor, too. The guy is a chef and makes incredible fresh juices. Nothing is pre-mixed, and you can customize your pg/vg ratios, flavor mixes (up to 3 flavors) and nicotine level from 0 all the way up to 48mg. Plus he has big 4oz bottles of mixer of the same flavors so you can buy the 48mg and then get a big mixer bottle of 0mg and make your own nicotine levels. $32 for 5oz (150ml) of juice that tastes and vapes phenomenal is good in my book, plus he ships out of Oakland so I get my stuff in 2 days. No waiting for slow boats from China or paying smoke shop prices for old stuff.

Thanks for the input Juan! Actually all my Juice is form MBV - they are somewhat local to me (2.5 hours away) and I have heard/read good thing about them. So far so good!

I tried Will's RBA last Sunday, and it was smooth as butter! Whereas mine still has a harshness when it hits the throat, and coming from me, that's says a lot (I could smoke Camel bare-ass and take some huge "tobacco" hits with ease). It's not entirely unbearable, but it would be more enjoyable if it didn't burn my throat so much. I have messed around with the Voltage/Wattage as well, and found my "sweet spot" to be around 4.0-4.5 Volts and 8.5-9.5 watts depending on the juice.

I think the harshness I feel is either too high of Nic. or maybe I need to adjust the PG/VG ratio (all my juices are 65PG/35VG blend right now).

    That's good pricing.

I can't check them out from work because their site is blocked. Tasty Vapor isn't blocked, so that's where I go. I'll check out MBV another time when I'm at home.

Higher PG gives you more throat hit for sure, but so do higher nicotine levels. That's why I do no more than 50% PG. It's all about personal preference.

I would agree, Ben. I started trying your green apple last night. Lot more throat hit than I'm used to. Device will make a difference but I'd also go with 50/50 12mg on your next order.

The device I had for the 555 juice was a Genesis hybrid with a stainless wick. The sticky bun was a DCT on a K100. I'm vaping your green apple with an EVOD on a Grand Vapor mod.

I got my Russian 91% all set up, and my first coil was a 2.6ohm on 30 gauge kanthal that came with it, and I ran an organic cotton wick. Did pretty good but I wanted lower resistance.

Next coil was 2 twisted 30 gauge kanthals together and that one came out at 2.4ohms. Getting closer. That coil is much more stout but heats up fast even on the lower volts/watts. My goal is to get a 1.8-2.0 ohm on the next one.

My issue now with the organic cotton is that I get a weak vape after about 2 days of heavy use and have to change it. Once I take out the old cotton, rinse the coil and dry fire it to clean it, then put in new cotton... I get a great hit again for 2 days. So nice to leave the coil in there and only have to change the cotton. I received my new order of 100' of 28 gauge and 100' of 30 gauge kanthal so I'm set for life. Gonna play around with more twisted coils, which seems to work great with that added surface area.

Got my iTaste 134 in today.. damn Gatling gun. But it sure is fun.

I don't boil the organic cotton, and it only has a very light "linen" flavor to it on the first 10 hits or so. Then it's clean. It's not an offensive or strong taste when I first put fresh cotton in, but it's slightly noticeable. Because it's a clean taste, it doesn't bother me and doesn't affect the whole tank.

Not near as bad as other types of wicks, which require a boiling or a torching or else they taste like ass. Organic cotton is as clean as you can get out of the package.

Here's a pic of my rig, I like to keep things simple:

Just a run-of-the-mill Bolt that I modified slightly to accept an 18650 without the little extension tube, topped off with an AGA.

    Couldn't be happier. I prefer a plain-old SS wick, and a 29ga. Kanthal coil.

I repurposed my humidor to store all the bits I keep, including a few empty bottles of smoke juice, a Kanger that I don't use anymore, and parts for my RBA:

The small bag holding my batteries in front of the humidor is what I use in the field. Lives in my truck, holds 4 18650s, a 30ml bottle of juice, one RBA rebuild kit, a jeweler's screwdriver, and a syringe.

Mine is a cheap and stout setup that puts out more than enough vapor to keep this former cigar smoker away from tobacco (most of the time...). :D
