Anyone running Elka 2.5 IFP? Curious to hear your thoughts and how often you are replacing bearings? Rebuilding?
    Thanks!

……I had about 5k on 2.5 non-external resi but on a xterra not taco. With that said they were buttery smooth and the nicest riding shocks I ever owned. They were extended length and effectively mid travel, +3 in the taco world. Didn’t get a chance to wheel with them but it was night and day from my 5100s on their highest settings. I am a pretty aggressive driver and I feel they would be fantastic for fast fire road or desert runs which is more my cup of tea then technical crawling stuff.

They’ve got a lot of history in the dirt biking world and I guess utv as well. I’m also curious to run them on my taco eventually.

5k as in thats all the KM you put on them or the seals/had to rebuild after 5,000km? Good to know, thank you! The shop also told me they were 2 inches of extended travel?

Definitely not 2" extended, maybe an extra inch. I think the overall shaft length difference is 14mm
I'm going into my third year on my 2.0's approximately 55 0000km on them.
Outside of the one warranty issue that was handled very well mine have been solid I'm started to consider replacing my spherical bearings this spring. This will be a bigger maintenance item than rebuilding.

My rears can get a little noisey in the cold but minor. Are you running a heavy build? Desert running? I think most people for full redi set ups that truly don't need to. I have yet to fade my 2.0's to a notable degree

There's an entire elka thread over in the suspension section I would look for.

Just what the shop told me so not sure. 55k is really good, how hard are you on them?

I am more of a drive through the mountains to cool places, mixed in with light trails. I don’t rock crawl or do super high speed stuff.

I have a tent, bed cover and bed rack. About 300lbs on it and daily driven.

I am looking at the 2.5 IFP, no resi’s. I thought the bearing was a fairly quick job? I was quoted by the shop $500 for parts and labour to replace 4 bearings.

I wonder how much of that is labor and parts. I'm assuming the bearings are the heim joints at the bottom bolt?

OK how do you like them? I just order the 2.5 IFP the other day from elka they where cool enough to give me 10% off and free shipping to the USA and a free shirt, Cant find much about elka but I live in Oregon and i have seen so many shocks in this form and online just about all of them get rusty, I went with elka cause I love the colors and they are all aluminum , Have you put your shocks on yet? got any photo to share?
all i do is daily driving on the streets cant find anything on how many miles I can get out of these before you have to rebuild them

I've been very, very happy with my Elka 2.5's (non-res.) with 700lb coils, Deaver stage 3 leaf pack, and JBA high-caster uppers.
So far, about 10k on them, with absolutely no issues and an amazing ride both laden and unladen.

    Cheers

I absolutely love them, I have the adjustable ones and I had a little bit if hassle trying to find the perfect settings for them but got it dialled in and they perform flawlessly. Haven’t had them through a winter yet or a rebuild so can’t comment on that. I think I have a little over 10,000km on them right now.
