"ELO GPS Security" Removal - Please help!

Let the GM know that you're going to file a stalking complaint with the local PD. That device is there illegally, since they have no financial interest in the vehicle, and they didn't disclose the fact they installed it. I'll bet they change their tune.

 

You'd think the dealership would want their property back, lol. Can you contact elogps and get them to transfer access to you? it looks kinda janky with the original obd plug directly behind the dummy one but the obd port is the common way our trucks are being stolen, so might as well have something there if it actually works.

 

In California, it’s only legal for a dealer to do this with a vehicle they still own, they’d be breaking the law if it was not taken out and still operational after the ownership transferred. If Ohio has a similar law, the dealer should take it out or pay for it to be removed by someone else for you.

 

I think it does support it; its just not hooked up. I had to add that same unit to my N2 design remote starter so that I could start it from my phone, track its GPS etc.

I got the little bugger out!
Absolutely no change in the trucks behavior so all good there, but that proves the dealer lied about remote start...
Going to prod at the SIM card in it and see if I can mooch some cellular access off of it for fun

I’d run it through a blender and send the pieces back to the dealership!

I figured if left in one piece, OP could get the velocity high enough to make it through.

 

Send it back to the dealer along with a severed finger. That should sent a strong message!

Took mine out since the dealer said they removed the gps package. My credit union owns the vehicle now doubt they’ll say something.

 

you’d be paying double digit interest rates if they thought you weren’t good for the loan. If you need one of these boxes, my guess is, you are pushing CC rate type interest at the Buy Here, Pay Here lot.

While you are at it, flip the cover and press the red button on your overhead console and request telemetry/telematics? be disabled. There should a narrow yellow and white sticker up there informing you of the service

 

A dealership lie?! Say it isn't so!

 

Did that on mine and once off the green light should be off next to it.

 

Make sure you leave a very professional but strongly (as direct as possible) review on as many social platforms as possible so future customers will know what to expect. Make sure to word it as factually as possible and state that you paid in full (did not finance through the dealership), discovered the device, asked to have it removed, and they refused. They may change their tune if they see it pop up on google reviews, yelp, etc.
