Also removed mine this morning. My Taco developed an irritating habit of a separate chime for about a minute after start-up. Counted 40+ individual chimes. Thought it was seat-belts: nope. Thought it was a newly-added dashcam power adapter and removed it: nope. Thought it might be an OBD adapter that was driving my Fusion readout: nope. Finally figured out there was this idiotic POS stuffed under the dash, was marked ELOGPS, went through the education process, and tried to get ELOGPS themselves to help me: no help from them (they said "take it back to your dealer;" a nonstarter for me because that facility is a two-hour round trip, not including waiting time). So like maxmick04 (OP), I crawled under the dash and removed mine. Mine didn't have any additional splices into truck wiring, just the goofy POS that is essentially a OBD extender with a side-wired gizmo. Took it out, put the original OBD connector back into it's default location, and everything is fixed. No more idiodic chiming. Everything runs normally. Very happy with previous posters (and maxmick04, the OP) for information leading to solution.

The GPS should only be pulling power from the OBD port, nothing else.

My mazda had this. And it could see the stuff they like to sell to insurance companies. Aka hard accel braking etc. removed it day 1. No issues.
