Got my grille this morning. It looks fantastic in person. Great quality.

DJ, I went to an auto parts store, they recommended VHT flame proof. It is good on radiators, exhausts and cooling system components.

Said to use a light coat. I'll be prepping today and moving my horns and installing the grille tomorrow maybe.

Got the horns moved. Alot easier than I thought, that write-up was great.

Gonna take a little break and then blackout the inside.

tim i have been watching your group buy thread for a while and was wondering if the issues with the 2011 grill have been worked out? If I remember right it was about the tabs not ligning up or something. If its been mentioned before sorry i didnt see it. I would like to get the grill and the light bar like DirtJumper14's set up as soon as money is available.

DJ that thing is sweet! Make sure to post a few mor pics with the 170s and make sure to buy the lower brackets it will raise them up here is a link
    http://www.lightforce.com/products/accessories/lowmountdrivinglightbracket

I never made changes to the 2011 grill people have done it but its a pain! I dont think I will just because it is a one year grill, but I'm working on the triangles for the sides that will match the 2011 grill so if you buy a 05-10 grill there will be know difference!

DO IT, DO IT, DO IT. It looks incredible and am getting compliments daily. Tim's design and fit is spot on. Grillcraft styles have nothing on these.

I ordered the lower brackets with them. 4Wheelparts had a deal for the non-hid 170s with the locking nuts and covers for free. Just bought the hid kits and lowering bracket for them separately since it comes to the same price and would be the same as buying the hid version but free stuff.
    Thank you again Tim.

I actually like both designs. I like the clean look of the standard. The bolt together is a more aggressive design and looks tough. It would appear that this design is becoming more prevalent in the design you see emerging with aftermarket products. I think your variety sets you apart from the rest. I would imagine that the bolt together are less time consuming to make which is totally understandable. Just my $0.02. Whatever you decide on they are amazing.

These are hella 500s converted with some cheap 55w hid 6000 bulbs. They are decent as far as light output. Nothing really special to be honest. I am switching to some lightforce 170s. Should be picking them up Tuesday from 4wheelparts.

OK, got mine installed. Having camera issues. Will post when I get it resolved. I painted the emblem white to match my truck, it looks nice.

After prep and cutting the old center out, the insert just popped right in place, drilled the holes and it was in. Couldn't have been easier, a great product.

I know LOL. I'll try for a side angle shot later.

Can't get over how good they look and how well made they are.

What is the issue with the 2011 grilles that people were referring to? Tim, if you think you won't make any more of the all satin black grilles, please put me down for that last one! I like it much better than the bolt together so I might have to act sooner than I thought. Please confirm that you have it and send me details about payment, if different from the info on the first page ($210, PayPal to ElusiveElements@hotmail.com). I will have to save up a bit more money and order the lower grille and the behind-the-grille light bar a little later.

Thank you so much, really excited about this!

on the 2011 the upper mounting points are too short you have to make some kind of bracket like this i would say to find a 2005-2010 shell for some reason there is more gapping with the 11 around the sides but i have done it about 8 times now it can be done its just not easy

I see Tim, so an 05-10 grille should fit just fine on my 2011 truck, and then the black satin grille you make should fit on it without the need for extra brackets or modifications, other than cutting out the middle part with the Toyota emblem, correct?

Well, still put me down for that last black satin one-piece grille if you still have it! I'll find a way to make it work. :) Thanks!
