I have searched and found nothing on broken cables, issues with them, ect. I have had two e-brake cables break on my 1999, Im curious if their is a stronger cable made I can use instead of the factory cable? Has anyone eles had issues with their cables breaking? Ive only had this issue during the winter, Im assuming it has something to do with the cold air weaking it. Thanks guys

My e-break cable broke not to long ago as well, front. I went to rock auto and got a new one. F-ing sucked. I have been parking my truck in gear (manual) so far til my part comes in. It would be nice to know if there is a better upgrade for cables.

I have a 97 and have now snapped 2 cables.

The latest one lasted about 3 months.

When this last one came in and i saw how thin it is i couldn't imagine how it was possibly any better than the one i had before. I purchased it through schucks or something.

IIRC it was like $30 and a PITA to install.

Does anyone have ANY other suggestion? This is ridiculous.

Did you lube and properly adjust the cable?
