2013 Tacoma. V6 AT. My emergency brake light on the dash stays illuminated constantly. This started earlier this morning after I applied the brake parking on a steep hill. The operation of the brake itself seems perfect. Set it, the truck won't move. Release it, it moves freely. However, with the brake released the light is still on and I get a beeping alarm when the trucks is in drive. Any ideas?

Check the brake fluid level, it will also illuminate this light.

I'm not an expert on these trucks, but I've read on TW that when you have a problem with lights/electrical, check the fuse first.

This. One of the easiest things to check, and can oftentimes be the culprit. It was on mine!

Did any of these remedy the issue? My girlfriend is having the same issue on her 2nd gen.

Actually no. I zip tie holding some wiring that coming through the firewall has wiggled its way down and was depressing the switch. I guess I failed to notice it during my initial inspection before creating this thread. Fortunately it was a very simple fix. Good luck to you in your troubleshooting.
