Question for you 3rd gen folks.

I've had a 07 and 12 Tacoma. Now own a 19 TRD Access Cab OR 4x4. An annoying problem is the Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR). Numerous times when I crawl in (slowly/peacefully) I have trouble trying to put on the seat belt …. the ELR won't release without a lot of cursing and manipulating. Anyone else have this problem? Heard of it? Solutions?

    Appreciate any input.

If it is a jerky pull, it will lock up. Smooth and gentle, like you said. If you are on a slope, it will be more sensitive.

On past cars though, we have had a seat belt or two that would lock up too easily. One on the passenger said would not let you lean forward once buckled. It was annoying.
