Anybody know much about EMP-proofing a taco? I've been hearing a lot about possible EMP threats from Iran, and have been wondering if all we need to do is line our ECM, etc with lead...

    Any thoughts on this?

    Really?
I hope this isn't a troll (no offense intended).

IF there was such an attack your truck would be the last of your worries. The entire electrical grid would be down, telecommunications would be down, radio, TV, internet, banks, industry.......basically anything that uses electricity in any part would most likely be down.

But in the interested of the thread:
You'd have to line and ground your entire truck, there are far to many electronics things in cars these days to be able to protect them all. Or park in a hardened shelter.

Best bet: buy a 1960 truck/car with points ignition.

I'll be investing in a horse if that happens.

Get a huge roll of Reynolds wrap and cover your whole truck. Also get zombie stickers to protect you just in case the zombies break out of a secret base near you.

EMP from Iran? LOOOOOL. Too much Fox News, guy. Iran is a 3rd world country when it comes to its military.

You should be more worried about an "EMP" from outer space when the Earth's magnetic field switches. We're all doomed when that happens, and we're overdue by a couple hundred thousand years.

Have sockmonkey make some EMP PROOF quarter panel decals, not only will they protect from Iranian EMPs, they will add at least 15 horsepower!!!

Well i guess good start would be to have all ground points voltage protected. There is probably somewhere around of 100 of them on the damn thing so good luck on that. I rather drop in Hino diesel afterwords.

Lol at all of you doomed people :D ATRAC no worky

My 1962 Dodge M37B2 Military Power Wagon was EMP hardened from the factory...points ignition and all. However, at 6k lbs and a flat head six, it is not the fastest vehicle on the road.

IRAN is crazy...strike first, ask questions later. Go in and plant the US flag on their soil..gas problem solved. Enough of these wimps in Washington..and Cali for that matter.

EMP proofing has the added benefit of protecting your truck from the matrix. They do send search and destroy sentinels every now and then.
